My wife and I stayed at the Paradise Guest House and had a lovely stay for four days in mid-July. Very peaceful and quiet. Nice, private room with relaxing hot tub to use in the cool evenings. Had all of the amenities that we needed. It was a convenient short drive into town or Mt. Rainier National Park’s Longmire entrance. Good view of the woods and we had deer early every morning visit. Nearby activities: National Park hiking.
We stayed in the Paradise Guest House for 4 nights on our low-key pandemic honeymoon. It was clean, quiet, and private. We weren't a fan of the old style gas fireplace or the shower/tub unit. But the partly covered private hot tub was a great way to relax. The woodwork inside is really nice touch. Fresh ice was in the freezer when we got there and the heat was on. Carol was really nice and made us feel comfortable when we checked in. The best part was that we didn't see another human for the full stay! We'll definitely be back.
My girlfriend and I stayed in the Meadow Cabin and it had everything you'd need for a romantic getaway, a base camp for hiking and/or everything in between. Clean, all the amenities you'd need, and a kind/helpful owner just down the road made the stay incredible! Would highly recommend staying here if you plan on hiking Mt. Rainer and the area around it.
WE loved everything about our stay! We stayed in the Rainier Cabin, so the hot tub was a bonus especially at night under all the stars!" Everything was amazing & Carol was very genuine & welcoming! The location, hospitality, the town & the views were everything!!!! Nothing better than enjoying a cup of coffee on an early morning, breathing in the fresh, cold & crisp air!
My husband and I stayed here for a weekend get away. We stayed at the Rainer cabin. It was very nice. Had a private hot tub and a nice little grill to make dinner. Lots of movies to pick from at the lodge. It was nice and quiet and right be the entrance to the park. We brought our own food so we didn't try any restaurants in the area. We hiked around mt Rainer all day and the hot tub was the nicest thing to come back to and relax our tired feet. There was a picnic bench out side next to a fire pit. There was wood that you could buy for a fundraiser but we didn't have a fire outside. We enjoyed the firplace inside that cabin. We recommend Almost Paradise to anyone looking for a nice quiet couples getaway. They do have a dog there that liked to come visit our cabin but wasn't a problem for us.
We stayed in the Sunrise Guesthouse from June 10-13 and we couldn't have asked for a better start to our Pacific Northwest vacation. We never felt like we were staying "in someone else's space". The place was welcoming, comfortable, relaxing and completely private. The amenities are amazing! Personal hot tub and sauna outside your door, the cleanest most even cooking grill we've ever seen in a vacation rental! Everything is so well maintained and cared for and it definitely shows. It has been a very long time since we've been able to unplug and go off the grid and we took advantage of it during our stay. We are already planning a time to return because we've never had a better time together! Thank you so much for your hospitality!
First off, I would have to say that the customer service there was great, she really tried given the circumstances. But we came across many issues. My significant other and I stayed at the Rainer Cabin. We chose this because of the hot tub. Well, we get up there and we were showed around which was nice. While she was showing us the place she was redoing the bed spread and checking the bathroom to make sure it was cleaned because of a new staff member and voiced her opinions that she wasn’t good so she needed to make sure we were taken care of I thought it was nice/but it was odd for her to tell us places have been dirty in the past. We were then told the hot tub was not warm and it was at 50 degrees because they had to clean it out from the people the night before. She advised us that it should be ready in a couple of hours. Well it wasn’t, nor did it warm up the entire weekend and we couldn’t use the jets to get it working because those buttons were broken too. So hot tub out of the question. We went to take a bubble bath and... no hot water. When we told them they said they had issues the night before and tried to fix it. We didn’t shower the entire weekend. The cold/warm water lasted under a minute. Then the power went out. Completely out of their control so we tried to make the best of it! It was our first weekend away in a long time. We had issues with no propane in the BBQ tank, good thing I brought a crock pot up. We explained to them our issues the day we left and we were promised of a refund after messaging through email. Not a complete refund, which was fine. We NEVER received a refund. It was around Christmas time so we understood that things could be hard. But we never saw a refund or had any communication reciprocated after that. Unfortunately we will not be book this location again.
We loved our stay here!!!! I emailed them Thursday about renting on of the cabins on Friday night. Since it was so last minute and the cabins were all rented Saturday night they agreed to letting me rent 1 night even though it was peak season. We stayed in Rainier cabin and it was perfect for just my boyfriend and me. It was very cozy, and I mean that in the best way possible. Even though it was raining we utilized the fire pit and picnic table and had some S'mores after dinner. And the hot tub was a god send considering my boyfriend had been on Rainier for 5 days. We LOVED it and will 100% return in the future. One note is while the cabin does have a kitchen area, it isn't a full kitchen. So don't plan on cooking a giant meal one night. Though the kitchen is very well stocked.
I was looking for a good place to stay near Mount Rainier that would be close to the mountain for some day hiking. Pros: The hottub was great! Everything was clean and very well maintained in the room. The setting was very quiet and private. The kitchen was very well equipped. The cons: In an attempt to make the atmosphere feel homie and family style, there were a few touches that could have been scaled back a bit. When checking in you essentially sit down in the owners living room while they were having a family dinner and fill out your paperwork and make the payment. When sitting at the dinner table in the cabin the decorations in our room seemed to be pictures of the owners family and there was a garder belt hanging from a trinket decoration on the wall. There was an air freshener that was quite overwhelming and it had to be hunted down to be unplug. Overall it was a good experience but next time I would like to find another cabin retreat near Mount Rainier.
The hosts, Clarissa & Stephen, were so easy to work with and the communication was great. The cabin was beautiful and my parents had a lovely anniversary weekend!!! 10/10 would stay again!Rooms: 5/5
