A Tale of Two Shuttles….It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. Our pickup at GUC was flawless and we enjoyed a professional and courteous driver. However, on our return trip to GUC, our driver was over an hour late picking us up. The driver said, “Font worry, I’ve seen people make it in plenty of time.” We checked our bags with the airline with just two minutes to spare before the bag cutoff. Incredibly stressful experience!
ZERO : We were not picked up from our hotel in Crested Butte on 12/19/2022 despite having pre-paid and confirming our reservation back to Gunnison airport. Left with no other choice, as all calls went unanswered to the company’s various phone numbers, we had to solicit a ride from a local worker in his personal vehicle in order to make our flight- this man was a complete stranger to us. This is outrageous and not only have I not been issued a refund, nobody has contacted me despite leaving numerous messages and sending several emails. This inexcusable situation left two people stranded in a town without taxis or uber and nearly missing a flight- to say it was upsetting and dangerous is putting it mildly. I expect to be receiving a refund today given the fact that leaving a poor review appears to be the only way to contact this company. Suggestion: Find another car source when going to Crested Butte- like, rent one.
My mother and I used this shuttle service on August 1, 2022 to get a ride from a Gunnison address to the Gunnison airport. I stated clearly when setting up the ride via phone call that I was going to use cash for payment. The customer service person said she needed my credit card on file in case of a cancellation, so I complied. After we were dropped off at the airport, I thanked the driver Allan and gave him the cash payment. Allan said “thank you kindly”. On August the 10th, my credit was charged again. I immediately contacted the customer service and the refund department of Telluride Express CO West for help and a credit. I also emailed my complaint. As of today 9 11 22, I have not been issued a refund. I was also told that “the driver did not receive any cash payment”. This is totally false and completely dishonest behavior on the part of Telluride Express’ driver, Allan. The charge is currently under dispute and my credit card company is working on recovering the double charge. I would NOT recommend this company for shuttle service–they have a very poor procedure for tracking cash payments and obviously have untrustworthy drivers. UPDATE AS of 9 16 2022 I have received a refund on my credit card for the double charge. I thank my credit card company for working on my behalf and also Alpine/Telluride Express for the refund--thank you for making this right! I greatly appreciate it.
I haven’t been to Crested Butte, in Several years so I checked to see if Alpine Express was still in operation. As my family and friends have been skiing CB since 1977, the Pettigrew Ski Group has been using Alpine Express with great satisfaction. The staff have always been super friendly, as this past trip Sammy was really cool as we were talking all things CB. The reservations were easy to make and the counter at the airport is well organized. Thanks Alpine Express AGAIN!
Alpine Express did a great job for my wedding in Crested Butte we had about 80+ guests that needed to be transported from down in town and up on Mt. Crested Butte to the Mountain Wedding Garden. Coordination and planning went very smooth. They were on time and very friendly. We really appreciate everything and would highly recommend them. Thanks!
Alpine Express is definitely the best shuttle company to work with in Crested Butte. We had to hike out early from a backpacking trip and they arranged to pick us up in Crested Butte that day and drive us to Marble. Everyone at headquarters was a pleasure to work with and the driver was friendly and accommodating -- and his vehicle was clean and comfortable.
I just got married in Crested Butte and hired Alpine Express to shuttle 80+ guests from town up to Uley's Cabin high on the mountain. The whole team at Alpine Express was great to work with and easily adapted to our somewhat complicated wedding shuttle plans. They were on time and efficiently moved everyone up the hill on a tight timeline to start the ceremony. Our driver at the end of the night was patient with a boisterous crowd on-board and even made a slight detour to drop off a couple at their doorstep. Great service and follow-through all around! You shouldn't be worried about trusting Alpine Express for transportation needs in the Gunnison-Crested Butte area!
Alpine Express did not have anyone to take us to our destination once my family of 5 arrived to the Gunnison airport. I tried calling many times. No answer and nobody was at their desk at the airport. We were forced to rent a car to get to Crested Butte. On our return trip to the airport just 6 days later, Alpine Express completely no showed us, again! No call, no heads up. We had to get another ride to the airport at the last second and made it to the airport just 30 mins before our flight. I have used Alpine Express in years past without issues. I’m not sure what is going on with this company, but I would not recommend them to anyone ever again. Extremely disappointed!
With the town shuttle that runs between the resort and town of Crested Butte and the airport shuttle to CB these folks provide, there is no reason to rent a car for a ski trip to CBMR. My wife and I were very happy to skip the expense and liability of a rental and let AE handle the driving. They’ll drop and pick you up anywhere in CB. It’s a quality service. Very nice drivers too.
Easy, convenient, and our driver was super friendly and helpful. Great way to get to the slopes!
