What an experience! The Imogene Pass tour was absolutely amazing. It was breathtaking, beautiful and terrifying all at the same time. Joel was awesome. We would highly recommend him as a tour guide. He made everything interesting and was very informative even though the ascent and decent was a little scary and some spots, we never felt unsafe with him. Thank you for giving us an experience we will never forget.
We booked a 10 person private tour up Imogene Pass with Steve and it did not disappoint! Steve made several stops at different scenic locations, waterfalls, and historical sites, sharing facts and information along the way! One of the members of our group had an asthma attack / breathing difficulties for most of the trip and Steve approached the situation with absolute professionalism, kindness, and flexibility. We loved the beautiful views of the San Juan mountains and recommend this experience to anyone - it is unbeatable!
My husband and I went on the Yankee Boy Basin tour and we loved it. Our tour guide Don was very knowledgeable and kind. The scenery was beautiful and the seats were comfy. The weather was great going up, but coming down it started raining. The truck had a rain cover that kept us dry. They had blankets for us if we got cold. When we come back to Ouray, we will definitely do another tour with Alpine.
We had the best time with James as our tour guide! Our family really wanted to go up in the mountains but didn't want anyone to have to drive and miss all of the views. I wish we would have been in town longer so we could have taken another trip/route with this company. Highly recommend if you are in the area! Seats are SO comfy!
The 5 hr. tour to Imogene Pass is a MUST for anyone visiting Ouray. Alpine Scenic 4X4 Tours was our choice and they did everything as they advertised. Very comfortable bucket seats,. nice warm blankets etc and a very personable and knowledgeable tour guide , Steve. He used the PA as he was driving to share points of interest or would stop and get out and tell us about the history of areas along the way. Worth every penny and then some.
My husband, two daughters and myself booked a private tour last minute. We had a wonderful time on our 4 hour tour with James. He was so knowledgeable and took us to some of the most beautiful places. We highly recommend using Alpine and will book again when we come back.
Had a great time and Jason was a great guide - very attentive to our comfort. Saw so much in 4hrs and it was all breathtaking. Appreciate all the tour fun facts and had lots of fun. Took the private jeep since I wasn't sure how my kids would fare and needed more flexibility. It was my favorite part of our vacation and we'll def book with Alpine again in the future.
Our family of 6 booked an 8 am trip to Imogene Pass. We were fortunate to have Don as our driver and guide. He is a safe driver who knows every bit of the trail. My wife is very fearful of heights and edges but made it through the trip thanks to Don's expertise. He is also knowledgeable about the history of the trail and area, wildlife, plants and geology. Our 5 hour trip included stopping at two mining sites with time to explore and go rock hunting. We would book again without hesitation.
Driver Don left us feeling completely safe despite the crazy cliff dropping roads an inch from the tires. Breathtaking wonderful afternoon. Enjoyed and recommend highly. Sit back and let an experienced driver with knowledge of paths, history, geology lead your day. Thx so much!!
Rob, our guide and driver was exceptional. The road was amazing. The car was comfortable and spetiase. I would like to have some more time of the Jeep and walking around but nevertheless, was an amazing tour.
