Alternative Energy Southeast, installed at our home, 14 x Q.PEAK DUO BLK ML-G10+ 400 Solar Panels, 1 x Sol-Ark 15K Inverter, and 2 x ARK Battery 100AH-48V. They did a great job, and we are very pleased with the very low cost of electricity we now pay every month. In some month we are receiving money because we are generating more electricity than what we consume!
I will give more than 5 stars if I can. Shout out to the installation crews. Gordon, Lauren and their crews were very meticulous with what they do. The star ratings I provided was for the installation crews. We had a bad experience with their salesperson. I learned a lot about Solar System more than I expect. I have to do my own research since we had a lot of questions but their salesperson Sharon gave us quite a bit of "I don't know answers*. I can list all the things that went wrong with our experience with their salesperson including the fact she messed up with our loan. Because of her mistake, we end up paying $100 more per month due to increase of our rate. She failed to submit the invoice to the bank on time. We will end up paying additional $6,789.26 because of her mistake. Please do yourself a favor, ask for a different salesperson if Sharon comes to your house. If the review I'm giving is about her,, she won't get a star at all.. But because of the excellent job that the installation crew did, that's why I gave 5 stars. Will I recommend this company, yes as long as you do not have Sharon as your salesperson. And please do your research and do not just sign a contract without researching about Solar System. There's a lot of options out there. YouTube helped us in making decisions. We got Fortress Battery and REC Alpha Solar panels. So far, we are satisfied with the performance. Montana is easy to reach when we have issue with our solar system. He sets up our solar system in a right setting to maximize our return.
I want to endorse Alternative Energy Southeast I the strongest possible terms. They have been outstanding in every dimension of designing, installing, and implementing the solar panels on our house. Adam Hoyt in particular has been accessible and helpful on every step of the way to producing electricity on our roof. When you are ready to go solar you can do no better than contracting with Alternative Energy Southeast. They stand by their work.
We used AES to install solar panels on our lake home. They were professional and great to work with. We believe we have a quality product and have successfully have solar power! We already recommended them to a friend.
TL;DR - talk to AES if you're interested in Solar. They know what they're doing, and they're very professional. Top notch customer service and communication throughout the discovery, contract, install, and activation process. Adam is all kinds of knowledgeable about solar and was able to answer all my questions. He even helped us find a credit union which finances these sorts of projects which was a big plus! Installation took about 5 days of actual install days intermittently interrupted because of rain - the nature of roof work and the crew was super professional. They were communicative about ETAs each morning and they proactively showed us progress as they reached milestones frames installed, electrician work milestones, etc. When install was complete they showed me how to use the system and were super patient with all my questions. After install I had a few additional questions about the system, and the project manager Dereck and install manager Russell were super responsive. I can't overstate how positive the customer experience was. The install has been complete for several weeks and we have seen a real, bottom-line impact to our electricity usage. After switching to GA Power's Time of Use plan they call it TOU on their website our estimated electric bill is going to drop by ~90%. We even had a brief power outage earlier this week, and the battery backup kicked in immediately! It's so cool to see it in place.
AES is an amazing and terrific solar company with excellent credentials, very professional and personable. I called >25 companies in and around Athens for fixing our existing home solar system. Most of them would not even call or reply to our message. Some who answered came and could not diagnose the problem, were interested in selling their products and replace our system. After months of frustration, I was able to connect with AES through a referral. They came, diagnosed and identified the problem within 30 mins. I highly recommend AES not only for new solar power for your home or business but also for repairs of your existing solar power. Thank you for the work that you are doing!
Adam was very knowledgeable and helpful. He helped me figure out what was best for me and my system. The company also monitors your system to make sure it is working properly and producing to its potential. When I had an optimizer go bad, they called to let me know, and sent a team to fix it.
AES installed our rooftop solar panels. Before that, they assessed our property and provided us a detailed report with estimates of use, production, break-even time, and so on. Once we got on their schedule, the panels arrived and the installation was completed in about 2 days. This happened during the pandemic, and everyone who had to enter our home did so masked without any fuss. A few years later, we asked them to clean our panels, and they did a good job. AES told us what they would do before they did it, and they did what they told us they would do. Thanks, AES!
AES installed solar for my home, and also an EV car charger that has the option of only charging off of excess production from my array i.e., no need to draw from the grid!. AES's support and service have been incredibly high-level. Their team is genuinely interested in providing a high level of service and ensuring everything works well. I had some hiccups with the EV charger, but the problem was with the equipment and the manufacturer; regardless, the AES team put long hours into it and completely fixed it, at no additional cost to me. You know the saying 'think globally, act locally'? I can't imagine going with a national company. AES is local, and they've been consistently there for me. A++++
It's still early in the ownership phase, but so far I'm very pleased. The initial cost was honestly higher than I expected, but even with conservative numbers, I should get an ROI within 8 years if you include the 26% tax credit that is currently available. The plans were very detailed, and the overall experience was very professional. My only complaint is that Georgia Power limits the net metering to 10kwh systems. Otherwise I would love to expand what I have. My rep was Aaron, and he promised that I would have the system up and running by the end of the year, and he was correct. He also spent a lot of time on the phone answering a ton of questions. I highly recommend this company if you decide to pursue solar power for your home or business.
