Amano Artisan Chocolate Bars:
• Madagascar Single Origin Bar (70% cocoa)
Madagascar has long been known for producing fine cocoa beans. This chocolate has strong fruity flavors that include hints of citrus and berry. (SRP $6.95/2oz)
• Ocumare Single Origin Bar (70% cocoa)
The cacao from the Ocumare Valley is considered some of the finest in Venezuela. The Ocumare bar has rich chocolate overtones, as well as a well balanced fruity component that includes hints of plums and other red fruit. (SRP $6.95/2oz)
• Cuyagua Premium Dark Chocolate (70% cocoa)
The remote valley of Cuyagua is located near Caracas. Surrounded by cloud forest covered mountains, it is home to some of Venezuela’s oldest cocoa plantations. The Cuyagua chocolate has notes of spice that produce an incredibly complex flavor. (SRP $6.95/2oz)
Ocumare Handcrafted Milk Chocolate and Jembrana Handcrafted Milk Chocolate (MSRP: $6.95/2oz). The two new milk chocolate bars complement Art’s single-origin dark chocolate bars—Ocumare Handcrafted Dark Chocolate from Venezuela and Jembrana Handcrafted Dark Chocolate from Bali.
While both milk chocolate bars maintain the unmistakable flavors of the original bean, the addition of whole milk to these single-origin beans rounds out the chocolate’s acidity and calms any astringencies. This makes the milk chocolate versions sweeter, creamier and smoother than the darks.
Three Newest Bars:
Made with 30% cacao, Ocumare and Jembrana milk chocolate bars are darker than most other milk chocolates on the market. This higher concentration of cacao allows Amano’s milk bars to retain the integrity of the beans, giving them each their own distinctive character.
Not to be overshadowed by the new milks is Amano’s fourth dark chocolate bar, Montanya. This 70% cacao single-origin bar is made from beans grown in the mountains of Northern Venezuela (Montanya means “mountain” in Spanish). These remote plantations are accessible only by horseback.
