First time at Mankato’s AMC theater, brought my family with and would NOT RECOMMEND. Asked for fresh popcorn because the one we received was cold. The clerk said his “MANAGER” wouldn’t allow that. Asked to speak to the manager, whom stated it had just been made 25-30min ago. When I said that explains why it’s cold he simply said he needed to get rid of all the “old popcorn” before making more. I said okay. Then, the kids wanted slushies that we paid an additional amount for not a problem. However, when we went to get our cups filled it was all watered down. Luckily, we got into the theater just in time for our movie to start only to have to wait over 10min into the movie for the lights to dim down. Our family made the most of it but if you’re wanting to have a good movie night out with your family. I would NOT RECOMMEND this theater. Save your time and money and go to River Hills Mall instead.
The popcorn was fresh and plentiful, and the soda selection was incredible! Added to that, the friendliness and attention of the staff made for a very enjoyable day at the movies!!
Too expensive..76$ for one adult n two granddaughters under 16. each a bag small candy a Large popcorn to share n 3 lg sodas....It's really not a no brainer why people take their own snacks into the movie theater.
It's a movie theater. Whole place felt like an old, dog-eared, paperback. Bit grimy and tired. But, the seat was comfortable and movie played.
I have been to all three Mankato theaters in the past couple of months. Out of the three theaters in Mankato, this one is definitely the one I will consider returning to the least. It was completely dead on a Friday and no wonder, everyone must have been at the far superior theater at the mall. We weren't greeted by the employees when we walked in even though we were the only people there. The tickets were only 5 dollars, which was a plus. We went over to our theater only to find out next that the women's bathroom was closed and the theater did not appear to have been cleaned since the last showing at all. There were still full bags of popcorn left under the seats. Also this is the only theater in town that has not gotten recliners yet. The projector did not turn on until 10 minutes after the designated showtime and proceeded to run 30 minutes of trailers and ads. The movie began and after that everything went smoothly until the projector randomly shut off and the lights came up 10 minutes before the end of the movie. We kind of sat there and waited for a few minutes to see if it would turn back on. It did turn back on and finish the movie after about 5 minutes but that has never happened to me or anyone I know at a theater before. It completely ruined the experience. We then proceeded to walk out of the theater. The bathroom was still closed, and none of the employees said anything as we passed through the lobby on the way out. Cinemark at the mall is much nicer and Spotlight downtown has really friendly employees and low prices for second run movies. I will return to those two theaters long before I will return to AMC.
Hoping it had the recliner seats but considering how hard theatres were hit with "plandemic" I was grateful to actually be in a theatre. Be sure & check out the AMC website, their membership is 1/2 price right now for the year and you can share it with friends & family.
Staff was pretty chill and the transaction for tickets/popcorn was quick!
Amazing staff, very welcoming id pick AMC over Cinemark any day of the week!!!!:
The staff seemed not to know how to handle e-tickets, which are extremely common now. They didn't know the answers to simple questions like where things were in their building, and seemed to assume that patrons knew how things worked, so they barely spoke to us. We had to ask about everything. The prices of concessions are FAR too high. $46 for 3 bags of popcorn and 3 cups of soda is absolutely outrageuous. Who can afford to go out to a movie anymore at these prices? I'll stream my movies and stick to attending live theatre--it's cheaper!
Great theater, nice location, vast parking and great popcorn!
