Built in the mid 1800s, Amelio’s has always been a saloon/tavern/restaurant and is registered with the Indiana Historical Society.



"Amelio's on the River is a family owned staple in Logansport. It has been open for more than 150 years in the same location making us the longest operating business in the area. We embrace our heritage with Italian inspired American cuisine. Our 100% never frozen beef hamburgers have been voted over and over again as the best in the Pharos Tribune's Reader's Choice contest. Our mouth watering steaks have also been voted Best Steaks multiple times, including the past 3 years. Our dining room is family friendly and cozy. Our deck overlooks Little Turtle Waterway Park or for a night without the kids, you can sit in our fully separate bar area with music and great times! We have daily lunch and dinner specials!"

My parents and I had dinner here. They went there for their anniversary something like 50 years ago! Still a fantastic place. We had steaks! Delicious, well chosen, ribeye cuts no chewy parts and a comparable price point. Atmosphere is great, very bar like on the bar side with music ect. The family dining side is nice but the music bleeds over a little. Not so much you can't have a decent conversation but enough you know it's there. Overall it's a good atmosphere, with great food and great service! Kid-friendliness: Bar on one side and open family dining on the other. Dietary restrictions: Ketogenic - steak, salad, broccoli.
This is my favorite breaded pork tenderloin ever! Handmade and the toppings are super fresh. My dinner companions had great looking 8 oz filets, a burger, chicken smothered in mushrooms and mozzarella, and vegetarian pasta. Dustin took great care of our large group and even brought Walter the dog to visit us
My husband and I went here for our anniversary. Never been there before. Food was delicious. I had the smothered chicken with salad and green beans. Husband had chicken Alfredo and salad. We had potato skins. Ended up bringing chicken and pasta home. Stuffed. I ordered a lemon cake drink which was too sour for me. Waitress did not hesitate to take it back and not charge us. Will definitely recommend this place and will be back.
Had a surprisingly delicious meal with the family. Our waitress, Deann i believe was spot on hospitality and nice personality taboot. Food didn't take to long even tho there were 10 of us. Wife and I splited our meals so we had the pork chop and chicken, both were cooked and seasoned to perfection served with 2 sides which were also delicious. Definitely recommend this little hole in the wall to anyone passing through. Vegetarian options: Yes they served vegetables lol Kid-friendliness: We had kids from diapers to diapers in our party all who where taken care of. Parking: There is parking all around and across the street by a nice little reservoir Wheelchair accessibility: Yes this fine establishment had accessibility
Great food for a good price! This place has been a bar for a long time. Good atmosphere. No smoking.Food: 5/5
I was just here recently with my wife for dinner. The service was pretty good. But the quality of food versus the price was way off. Way overpriced for what we received. The grilled chicken was borderline bad. The ribeye was incredibly small for what I was charged. I often try to get into the spirt of spending my dollars locally, but it is highly doubtful that I will be back.
I absolutely loved this place! My husband had been once before and wanted me to try it. We sat outside and it was beautiful!!! Food was amazing!!! And the service was the best! I think our servers name was Alisha? We will definitely be back!!!
Service was good. The food is a bit pricey for the quality. You would expect a little bit better food for the price but it wasn't bad. Also a little bit boring looking on the dine in side. They do offer a bar only side as well.Food: 3/5
