No one should have to wait over an hour to see a doctor when ur third in line and no one is even in here. And if you’re gonna make sick people wait for over an hour then u should at least make sure they have comfortable seating because these chairs are painful, especially when your sick. I definitely will not ever be back here.
There was a long wait time but completely understandable when so many are sick right now. The lobby was very clean. Receptionist took care of me and check me in quickly. Once I was called back I was taken very good care of! Lab tech was amazing and so was the Nurse Practitioner Michelle Hudson. Thank you!
I had an excellent experience at American Family Care McCalla location. The staff really works well together. Very pleasant environment. Big bonus is they got me in and out quickly. Wait time is not long at all. I highly recommend them for your immediate medical needs.
Visited cause I was really sick waited for 2 hours to see a doctor . The doctor said they don't know what it is, I said it's an infection can I get antibiotics so she said she would write a prescription for antibiotics. The nurse came back eventually and gave me the prescription it was sent to the wrong place so I had to get them to change it. The nurse said I was good to go and i asked did I not need to pay for it. The nurse replied no, I'm sick so I just think ok guess insurance paid for it. The antibiotics worked i was fine a couple days later. Two weeks go by and I receive a bill in the mail for $400. The antibiotics didn't even cost me $4 how talking to a doctor for 5 minutes and telling them what to give me somehow constitutes $400 is disgusting. I mean even if they didn't use my insurance I don't see where they got such a price. No test were done just a short talk. The bill also doesn't state a description the description box is completely empty, so they could be trying to charge me for anything.
The doctor/np didn’t even touch me! There was no examination. Plus she lied on the paperwork. She completely overlooked a symptom that I gave her and told me “not to worry about it”. She was cold and distant and did not appear to care about what was going on with me. I had sworn I’d never come back to this location however everything else was closed. The entire staff needs to work in their people skills. Very disappointing. I was kind despite the level of discomfort I was in. The only person that was kind to me was the lady who gave me my shots.
Absolutely horrible experience. Checked in at 8:30 and didn’t see a “provider” until nearly 3:00. Nurses just stick you in a room and don’t even check on you. After hours of waiting, I finally came out of my room to ask for an update and the staff got an attitude with me. Come to find out, there wasn’t even a doctor there!!! As people left in anger, I heard them calling more people from the lobby to sit in an exam room. Never once did they have the decency to tell any of us that there wasn’t even a doctor on duty. We should have been given that information from the beginning so we could decide whether we wanted to stay for five hours or to try to go elsewhere…somewhere that actually had a doctor on duty. I will never go back to American Family Care and would never recommend this establishment to anyone.
Very Under-Staffed business. Staff and Nurse who saw me Mrs. Robinson were nice but clearly doing more work than each person should be doing. I assume ownership is either unaware or has somehow justified this method of staffing, thus making him/her indifferent to a “one star” rating. Probably saving ownership money. The generic response that AFC gives to “one star” reviews, which I assume my review will also receive tilts my opinion that ownership is more indifferent, rather than unaware. Love the staff but would be difficult to return to this location. Very long wait times.
First I want to AFC to find out about my bad sore throat. Before I left, I went online to set an appointment before got there @ 10 AM..I left home about 9 AM and arrived at @ 9 :30 and went to sign and still had to go through the whole thing all over again. So my 10AM appointment wasn't 10AM. I didn't leave until after 4 PM. Anwas told my Covid test was invalid twice, my flu test and streptococcus were negative. Yes that ment they didn't find anything wrong... my throat is still hurting and it don't feel better soon I will go somewhere else.
Never been here before this day and I probably won’t be back. There were supposedly 2 doctors there but I waited there for over 2 hours. It said there were 8 people in front of me and after 2 hours there were still 4 in front of me. I know appointments take time but I left and did a teledoc appointment for strep and for antibiotics. The staff were not hospitable, barley made eye contact, on their phones. There was another patient in the waiting room playing her phone loud with raunchy material and foul language. If it was my establishment I would have asked her to turn it down out of respect for others. But I didn’t seem that the staff cared.
I visited the American Family Care location in McCalla, AL on January 7, 2023. The staff was courteous, competent and professional. I was treated very well and in a timely manner. I had a great experience. Thank you AFC-McCalla for providing critical services to the community.
