I had a great experience. The staff was right on point, very helpful and friendly! Dr. Lauren Kathary was amazing! She had a great personality. She was thorough and answered all my questions. I wasn’t rushed in and out and she took the time to explain my prescriptions and how they would react with the medications I am currently taking. I would highly recommend this clinic!!!
I came here for some illness I had been experiencing over the weekend, and I was quite nervous on the way in. However, everybody I met with was extremely comforting, kind, and professional. I felt like I was under great and relatively speedy care throughout my experience. I am very glad I chose this place over anywhere else. One of the best parts of my experience is that along with my excuse notes, I received extensively detailed instructions on how to best take care of myself and what medicines and measures I ought to take to ensure that I feel better as soon as possible. Even my primary care physician has never gone to that extent before. Thank you guys for helping me in my time of need, and thank you for going the extra mile!
Well, I had the most amazing visit at American Family Care yesterday. I had a swollen ankle and a small sore. First, I was checked in very quickly. All of my information was put into a tablet and I was ready to go. I didn't even wait 5 minutes before the nurse called me back. She listened to my complaint and took good notes. Within 10 minutes, I was talking yo Dr. Head about my issues. Quickly diagnosed a friction sore that caused the swelling. He wrote me a note explaining my problem and I was sent on my way. The best experience I could have asked for...and all if that on a Sunday afternoon. If you need urgent and professional care, this is your answer!!
The epitome of why people hate doctors offices and clinics.! I have been to this clinic multiple times over the years. Even designated one of the doctors as my primary. Why? Because the doctors are great. I was first at the clinic when they opened but second in line. The girl at the desk said if i didn't pay my copay i couldn't be seen. This is only the second time I've ever been asked for my copay up front. I pay for great insurance! Still had to go through the whole registration process as usual. Was still almost 40 minutes before I went back and another 10 minutes before I was seen. The doc spent 5 minutes with me twice! Yes they squeezed that hour in so they could get their full pay from the insurance company. So why on earth did they need my copay. Now anybody reading this is going to say it all sounds normal. And that's the problem! That is why people do not want to go to the doctor! Two things.. mistreatment and fraud!
Staff at front desk was super friendly and helpful filling out all the forms electronically. The nursing staff was also great…and Dr. Head was awesome with my 8 year old granddaughter who was nervous and made her laugh! So, thanks! Will use your services if ever travel in your area again!!
The front desk was nice. However, I went in an hour before they closed and they called me back about 10 minutes before they closed. I didn't mind the wait but as soon as Dr. Head came in he immediately said, "How are you? I'd be better if people didn't come in right before we closed." I tried to explain that I had been here an hour beforehand but he didn't care. He asked what was going on. I had been sick for like 4 days and was in a lot of pain. I was exhausted at this point from being in pain and While explaining my pain the Dr was rolling his eyes and said, " let's have a little perspective, you don't have cancer." Basically saying don't be dramatic which I didn't feel like I was, I was just at the end of my rope. And you can't just tell people they don't have cancer so be positive. He barely looked at my ears and throat and nose and said " yeah it's probably just a flu you'll get over it" when I asked how long until I feel better he again belittled me and said, "7 to 10 days isn't a long time get over it" he prescribed me one dose of a steroid and some medicine for congestion that the pharmacy has explained to him multiple times they do not have. He had no compassion at all. I cried after a saw him. Just remember you have no idea what people are going through I just lost my mom to cancer, I have 2 little ones so 10days of pain and sickness is a long time. All I ask is that you show people some respect and compassion. He had no patience for anything I said or did. The Dr made me feel like I was bothering him and not worth his time. Will never go again and will never recommend it to others.
Horrible customer service. I finished registering my son at 8:26 am and received a text message that we were checked in and he would see the doctor by 9:26! At 9:20 the receptionist called me up and said my information didn't go through so I had to do it again. I asked was this gonna make us wait longer, she said no. You will be next. Everyone that was there before had went in and even some after us had been seen. So I asked the guy that was calling people back how long it would be and called us back. Then I was explaining to the dr. Johnathon, he makes the statement, we tend to be really mean to people with Alabama masks on! I didn't think that was appropriate at all. Horrible service and bedside manners. If I could give them a negative 10 I would!
The staff last night was polite and understanding of my concern of the cut of my finger and they didn't treat me like they were in a rush with me being their last patient of the evening. They took their time treating me then when the results of my tests were back they didn't rush me out the door. I'm thankful that American Family Care was open when the closest urgent care facility to me Concentra wasn't.
Today I went in due to illness. The staff was awesome from the time I walked in. Everyone carried a smile, wonderful attitudes, and very knowledgeable. They got me in and out in a timely manner. Took time to listen to me we even held a friendly convo in between. If I ever need care quickly again. I shall return. The atmosphere was great!!
First let me say that the staff was all very pleasant and I’m grateful for that. However; inside the building it was 55 degrees, there was cold air blowing from all the vents, it’s December and it was warmer outside, my son had a fever and the cold was unbearable. The NP was pleasant but wasn’t going to test my son for the flu because she said it didn’t sound like the flu to her. Fever, body aches, headache, cough, sore throat…. I thought those were flu symptoms and everyone has the flu right now so I was confused. I had to ask for him to be tested. The nurse came in to collect the specimens and said she was swabbing his nostril for flu and Covid. I’m a nurse and I do flu swabs all the time, a flu swab should be collected from the nasopharynx NOT the nostril, that’s why the swab is very thin, long, and flexible. I told her it should go in the nasopharynx and she said, “nope, they told me it just goes in the nostril.” Of course it came back negative and maybe he doesn’t have to flu but, maybe it’s because she didn’t collect the specimen correctly we’ll never know but if it is flu he won’t get Tamiflu now. We were also there for over 2 hours, I know everywhere is understaffed right now so I try to give a little grace but there was only one person in the waiting room when we there and the wait wouldn’t have been so bad had it not been 55 degrees in the building. Again, the staff was very sweet but we won’t be back.
