Clean, nice pool. Showers were clean. Sites are packed together pretty close and there's not much of a camp store. We stayed there to visit Busch gardens so it's a good location for that.Rooms: 3/5
Now I'll say this early; my review is mixed, but overall, nothing negative but more of a preference review. That said, it's a quiet, chill spot, and I MEAN quiet!! If you like some action, this is not for you. But if you like retirement quiet, relaxing with a book, soft music, a calm pool, and family fun. A spot to relax while you head out to enjoy the local attractions. Then this is the spot. It is spotless; the bathrooms are private showers. I like that. Man, when it is dark, it lights out. Super tight, quiet . Lol, I prefer some noise; I did not want to play my music. That's how quiet it was. Super soft it was. I did not have high expectations, just something close to the house to hook up and ensure everything in our camper was good and a nice getaway. It was so hot to enjoy the mini golf since it was directly in the sun. They have a lovely premium site would enjoy during the winter. They do make an effort to accommodate your preferred request. But will we return? Yes! It was a nice chill after enjoying the local attractions. When I said quiet, I did not hear any kids, although there was a lot!! Oh! The only loud noise is the train in the distance . It wasn't a bother. But a friendly, locally-owned campground with free cable and excellent Wifi. And no corporate campground price. Last, Did I mention that it is Supper quiet
We’ve come here several times over the past 10 years, but this most recent visit soured me for good. Basically the front desk staff was unfriendly and unaccommodating for an hour early check in 3 pm instead of 4 pm and a late check out 2 pm. We’ve never been treated like this at a campground and will not be returning. Threatening to charge an additional night for staying 2 minutes past checkout when we were surrounded by other available sites. Not a good experience. When I reached out to the front desk about the experience I did not receive any communication back.
We had a long term stay here and not one issue! This location is very well kept and clean, the restrooms/showers were cleaned daily, lawn care came weekly always kept it tidy. Never had any issues with electricity, water or sewage. Friendly staff and very helpful! Definitely recommend this rv park!Service: 5/5
Meh...the sites are small and tight. The arcade wasn't serviceable. The water was out for a few hours for the whole campground. Pool was closed but it is early in the year. Nothing remarkable about the location. It was packed with people but all together boring for a packed Easter weekend. Its Pretty much a parking lot for RVs. If that's your thing, this is a good place for you. Bathrooms were nice and clean.
If you are looking for a great place to stay while you visit America’s Historic Triangle Jamestown, Yorktown, and Williamsburg this is it. We were less than 15 mins away from Williamsburg and had quick access to local restaurants like NY Deli and Pizza and Giuseppe’s. For groceries, Food Lion was closest and Harris Teeter was just a little bit further down Richmond Rd. Everyone we met who works at American Heritage was pleasant and helpful. Not a sad face in the place, lol. The sites are set up so that you park your RV on one side and your vehicle adjacent to it. The standard sites are spacious, many under trees, and the premium sites have a cute patio with furniture and fire ring or fireplace on them. We chose a standard site and lucked out with an end space on row 1 overlooking a massive field where we saw amazing sunsets every night. The camp store is well stocked with essentials and fun camp themed items. The staff was super nice and fun to chat with. If you’re there for a little while, they accept deliveries, too. The amenities are GREAT! They have mini golf, horseshoes, a dog park, tennis, basketball, a trail, game room and a pool to jump into and cool off in. We were here two weeks and while it was time to go, didn’t want to leave. If/when we are in the area again, we’ll be sure to pay this place another visit!
June 2023. Been coming for over 10yrs. Not sure if it's new mgmt but office staff were not nice, had minimal office hours, and had to be reminded multiple times for firewood delivery. Worst of all: there are roaches and only lukewarm water in the dirty, hair-clogged showers. For over $100/night during the week, I expect better. They have invested into the landscape and have really nice, spacious sites, but only 1 bathhouse, small pool, and substandard game room and putt putt. Location is great. So sad to see the service and cleanliness decline. Not sure we will revisit
Very beautifully maintained and close to Colonial Williamsburg. We stayed here to visit CW which is only about 8-10 min drive. The park has paved sites and level. Some rows are a bit tight for larger rigs and do not have ability to park tow vehicle. But the parking is close and safe. We camped here with 3 kids and they rode bikes and we all had a great time. We will definitely be returning. we may even splurge for the deluxe sites with paver patio and chimneys. Highly recommend! Nearby activities: Colonial Williamsburg is close and a must see!
Very beautiful rv park. Staff was super friendly and helpful, bathrooms were always clean, place was well maintained and manicured, and we didn’t have a single issue with our stay. We stayed long term and I felt like the price was worth it with how well they maintained it and how beautiful it was. If you plan on staying in the Williamsburg area or the peninsula this is one of the best rv parks.
One of the best RV parks so far! I have heard negative reviews on this place and for the life of me I don't understand why. The spaces are ample, there's lots to do if you have family, everyone is friendly, the gift store has some pretty cool items but do lack groceries, there is nature all around you, it was quiet, and we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We got to know some of the other guests. That doesn't happen at all RV parks. There is a pool, laundry, pickleball court, horseshoes, volleyball, trails, and ample parking if you don't have enough parking in your space for your vehicle beyond your rv. This park is close to all the things you could possibly need including grocery stores and other shopping. It is near all of the tourist attractions as well. I loved it there and we will go back. It would be cool if they expanded their general store to offer more groceries and a food truck would be awesome. Plenty of room for one!
