American Trade School is an amazing establishment. I am currently enrolled and have had nothing but fulfilling education. The electrical program has wonderful instructors who are truly interested in there pursuit to help the students develop the skills needed for the work force. Overall I highly recommend the school to anyone seeking a trade.
As a graduate of America Trade School, I highly recommend it, especially if you are interested in the HVAC industry. I was already gainfully employed in the field prior to completing the course, and after years in the field, I have returned to be an instructor. Graduates who take their education seriously will be quickly hired by an HVAC company. Many STL companies are on the board of directors and are eager to hire students while still on school.
I graduated and I have to admit it was the best decision of my life to go to American trade school. Carl and DJ the instructors are really good guys and they are not only talented in the field but they care about the education that they are providing. I would recommend this school to anyone even thinking about the HVAC industry.
We've used students of ATS for several needs around our small business - they've always been knowledgeable, professional and thorough. The instructors always followup to make sure the job was done to the best of their ability & they will continue to be our first choice for any HVAC & electrical needs we may have
Attending ATS was one of the smartest decision I have ever made. The instructors are helpful, wise, and always willing to help with anything we need. Everyone truly cares about your success and the classes were very hands on which helped retain the information. I learned many things such as being professional, business knowledge, and tools that I need to be the best HVAC tech that I can be. Additionally, they try to make sure you have a job best fit for you by the time you graduate, if not before. As a former ATS student I would say the staff such as teachers including the people in the office and financial aid were great. I am a proud graduate and feel confident that I will succeed with service and installs professionally in my career.
Attending and graduating American Trade School was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, changed my life! I finally have a fulfilling career because of it. I actually enjoy getting up and going to work everyday! The instructors JD, Chris, Carl, and DJ do a phenomenal job in teaching their curriculum and experience....It’s a great school and personally wouldn’t recommend anywhere else!
American Trade School was the best decision I’ve ever made. All the instructors are super knowledgeable about what they are teaching and want to see you exceed in this career. I’ve learned a lot from this school and would recommend it to anybody.
I was at Vatterott in their electrical program when it closed. I had to start over and decided to go to American Trade School. I wish I had started there to begin with. Great instructors who were very well organized and knowledgable about the trade. I would recommend American Trade School to anyone looking to begin a career in the Electrical trade.
ATS has great programs with awesome instructors, but the best part is the job board they have. They regularly post listings for jobs in IT, HVAC/R and Electrical. They really care about seeing their students succeed.
So the training is fine. The introduction to AC class has some pretty useful information; however there are no instructors currently training students with their journeyman's license. So the diploma that they give you is pretty much worthless. You still have to either work under a journeyman for 4 and half years before your eligible to sit for the State test in Missouri. None of the time you spend in school goes towards the state journeyman's hours needed to qualify. You can legitimately get your EPA certification by going to an HVAC parts warehouse and testing for it there. Total cost for the school is around $23000...the cost to take the test is around $75 plus study materials. You can actually get an HVAC certification at Florissant Valley Community College for around $650. Make no mistake this school is a for profit enterprise..they only average around an 80% rate of placement for graduates. I feel like during the whole process that the administration is not telling you the truth of how the HVAC licensing process works from St. Louis City to the County where they require an HVAC Mechanical license to work almost anywhere in the County. You could watch trouble shooting videos on youtube, study and get your EPA certification, and start working at an HVAC company to start your hours towards your journeyman's status without having to acrue so much debt.
