Great independent furniture store located in Southeastern CT. Family owned and operated for many years. The sad news is that this store is going out of business at the end of October 2019. We bought our furniture and accessories from here for years, and now the store and staff will be missed. Until the final days, there are sales upon sales as they are clearing their shelves.
Beautiful Showroom, I got a really great deal on my entire design service. Great sales staff! Go see the young lady name AnneS. Cyriack she’s Terrific. She took care of my every need the beautiful fabric on my sofa, and my 2 leather chairs, rugs, pads, pillows,and more. She was so pleasant and patient with us,answered all my questions and concerns.
Stopped by for some ideas for Christmas gifts for my, now, grown children and was amazed at the layout and the friendly staff. There were so many different styles and interesting pieces to choose from that I thought it would be more fun to have them all pick something out on their own. I, of course, want them to be able to have something to open, so the sales associate mentioned purchasing gift certificates to use at their leisure. Thanks for a great idea.
Store has an amazing selection of unique items. My husband and I love maritime and beach themed items. This store has so much for us to choose from! We drive all the way from Fairfield County, and the drive is truly worth it!!! The sales people are very kind and knowledgeable, and not pushy at all. Highly recommend this store to those who likes beautifully made unique furniture and décor pieces!
Friend went there during their out of business sale, said they had a rude attitude and we're insisting to buy something or leave. Just because you are closing, gives you no right to be rude to customers. In fact, that makes you have less sales. Have fun being stuck with stuff you don't know what to do with.
I went to Americana Furniture Barn a few weeks ago....I just got a new apartment and had many of the basics I needed, but I wanted to add something new. I went, not knowing what I wanted. The sales associates greeted me upon arrival and let me know if I needed assistance or ideas they would be happy to help. I looked around for a little bit, going from one fabulous room to the next, hoping something would pop out at me. As I was making my rounds, an associate found me and asked how I was doing. He proceeded to ask me about what I already had and about my apartment style. I was shown a handful of pieces, and found one, a perfect wine sideboard, that was just what I needed! I was able to take it off the floor and home that day! Great experience, I will be back! Thank You!!
Americana was our last stop after searching many stores for a bedroom set, as we tried the familiar name brands first. We found a set we liked and we worked with Sam to get the King set for our new home. Unfortunately we made a first-time homebuyer mistake and got a set that would not comfortably fit in our new master bedroom king bed was too wide, entirely our fault. By the time we realized the mistake about a week and a half after the deposit, the set was already ordered. I spoke with Sam and the manager and we were quickly able to come to an agreement so that we could get the queen set without paying any penalties or restocking fees. That was excellent customer service, and since we have a new empty house we will most certainly be returning to Americana first for the rest of our furniture.
Purchased a several thousand dollar formal dining set. Found out delivery is not included and is an additional charge. I was originally told estimated delivery was 6 weeks, which is an insane amount of time. After a month and a half I called to find out the status of my furniture. I had to call 3 separate times to get ahold of someone that could tell me that my furniture was on back order and it would be an additional month. At the end of the additional month I called back and immediately asked for the supervisor, who was on vacation. I left a very specific message saying that I needed him to call me back the following Tuesday. The day he was scheduled to get back. That afternoon I had still not received a phone call so I called the store and asked for the manager. He was the one that had picked up the phone and immediately knew it was me calling. He informed me that it would be an additional month before my furniture could be delivered and offered to “take off the delivery charge” as compensation. On a 5000$ order that was unable to be canceled because of a 30% restocking fee he offered me 100$ off something that shouldn’t have been charged for taking double the time to deliver something I had already paid for. End of story I should have just gone to Raymour and Flanigan’s. I would have had my furniture in 3 days and there wouldn’t have been a delivery charge.
I went into Americana Furniture Barn in hopes of purchasing a new chair. The staff was very accommodating and patient with me as I was eagerly hoping to find something "just right". In my mind I knew what I wanted, but could not exactly describe it. I was shown multiple options, and then, there it was, the chair I knew I wanted! I was so excited to find this perfect piece that I thought, "Hmm, I might need a new couch to match." The associate that was helping me showed me a couch that was from the same line. Little did I know, pillows were included, and let's just say I was sold! So, not only did I find a chair, but also the perfect couch!
Happy about receiving a refund for an inferior couch that they refused to complete work on to correct the defects. I've since run into another woman who has the same issue from a she bought for close to $2,000 as well did not receive help or compensation with her sagging 2 year old couch. It appears a number of products being sold are being manufactured with very weak spring bases and do not supportively hold up for very long...they easily begin sagging after the 1 year manufacturing warranty. For all of us as we're getting older it's impossible to sit on these items without aggravating and creating back issues. Make sure you see what is inside the couch for a foundation prior to purchasing. Americana has been getting stuck dealing with unhappy customers due to some fairly expensive but poorly made products. They really need to choose better on what they're selling or stand up against the manufacturers to cover the tab
