I've been with amerigas for 20 yrs. Always delivered on time. Was nice to call their office and talk to someone directly. Now I get a call center. Not helpful. I have never been charged a rental fee for my tank. Why now. So upset.
This company will not respond to any phone calls or emails. The company uses my driveway as a turn around point for another delivery. I have never had or used AmeriGas and yet my driveway is destroyed. Called and emailed numerous times to ask them please to stop and no luck. Our cars bottom out all the time get stuck in winter. Now there cutting into the yard making deep ruts Every other company backs down the drive so they don't use people's driveways to turn around. I've clearly marked the address so there's no confusion n no luck there either. The trash company uses the main drive and back down it so they don't mess up people's personal driveways and have even paid to fix the holes or ruts they made. I myself have also had it fixed numerous times just to have it done over and over again. AmeriGas has never tried to help fix the problem only contribute to it.
Amerigas use to be good when I could actually deal with someone in the company down the road from me. Now I have to call a call center and Amerigas is double the price of the new company we changed to that doesn't even charge us a monthly tank rental fee or delivery fee. This company is such rip off now they even want to charge us a pick up fee of $114.00 to come get there tank we haven't used for almost 5 months.
Amerigas keeps changing their tank rental policy. I have a 120 gallon tank. The policy has changed in the 15 years I've been with them to no required gallon purchase, to 96 gallons which is one full tank refill yearly, to an outrageous and unobtainable 240 gallons! If a customer doesn't meet the purchase requirement, they get an invoice for $129.28! The customer service advocate offered me to buy the tank so I don't have to lease it. They also said they don't even stock those 120 gallon tanks anymore. Amerigas is phasing out the small home owner who uses propane seasonally!
Truthfully if I could give 0 stars I would. Absolutely terrible service, can't get ahold of anyone at the call center to help. We barely even use our propane, only for heat and our stove, so we fill maybe once a year. Our bill has been nearly constantly wrong since we started using them 2 years ago, sent proof of payment from bank statements they asked for and still refused to fix the bill. Paid the bill off after making the payments we already made just to have them come unannounced when no one was home to fill the tank that wasn't even lower than 10% from the LAST time they filled, AFTER talking to someone for a second time about being on a Will Call basis. Now dealing with the messed up billing AGAIN, on top of late fees that keep getting tacked on for quite literally no reason since we pay the bill and have proof of payment. Truly pathetic. And good luck getting ahold of a single person who knows how to fix any actual problems you have. They can come get their tank anytime.
Amerigas took over 17 days to deliver propane which occurred during a cold spell of -0 degree weather. They will charge over $4.00 a gallon because I lease the tank to them instead of the local $1.68 a gallon if I owned the tank. They now charge over $200.00 a year for rental with a whole contract you now have to agree to even if you don't in order to use the service. I ran out of propane and called the emergency number that has no one answering on the other end. I have been strongly encouraged by many that have worked for Amerigas and Ferrellgas to find an alternate supplier. Buy your tank, get the cheaper price without all the fees. The reps in companies are not able to communicate with their supervisors or the drivers and they barely speak English. I submitted a report to the BBB, PUC, NPGA, Dept of Natural Resources and OSHA in hopes of helping others before a crisis occurs for someone else.
Ordered refill online easily and received delivery quickly. Those are the important parts. The unimportant parts are that it takes a couple days for the invoice to show up in my account, so I cannot pay it immediately, and it takes a couple days for the charge to be made on the credit card. The charge is still "Pending" and I would like to have this transaction completed and paid. Even so, this is light years ahead of their old system so they are getting much better. I have been waiting 16 years for them to come paint the rusty tank they delivered to me when I first signed up which they said they would do but as long as they don't blame its condition on me, I suppose I can live with it.
Super friendly and prompt delivery. The woman who answered the phone was helpful, and prompt. The driver was extra courteous and helpful also. He had to come inside to complete his paperwork and was sure to wipe his boots before entering. Nice to see they value customer service and the overall customer experience.
Initial tech was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. He then arranged for an initial fill the same day. Delivery driver was also knowledgeable and friendly even though I am sure my delivery added stress to her initial schedule. She didn't show it a bit. All around please with the service.
The service is always pleasant. This time was the first time I requested service online and it was fast and easy! When the delivery driver came I didn’t even notice, so it was a very unobtrusive visit by him which is very appreciated.
