This was supposed to be no cost to me. Amerigas called me and wanted to vent your underground tank. While the mechanic was there, he noticed that I no longer was using my gas heater. He said he would go shed and cap the line while he was there. No mention that there would be a charge. I end up getting a bill for almost $200.
There is no local customer service anymore. When I have called with an issue I speak to someone in a foreign country! When we had our last power failure and needed a propane delivery it took days and was only a minimal amount. Service is when you feel like it, not when I want it!
As a 40+ year customer of yours I called to request that you waive our rental fee this year. We will NEVER use the minimum required amount of fuel so it's basically adding $1/gal to our propane. When we first had your tank buried at our house we were told the minimum was much less, based on our average usage. Apparently the minimum was changed at some point unbeknownst to us. The woman I spoke to said I should hear back whether or not the fee was waived. That was over a week ago. I also asked how much it cost to purchase the tank. She said that wasn't an option and that someone would call me about it. Again, no call. It's really a shame that my extremely long history with your company does not amount to much. I guess you'll have to come dig up your tank and I'll find another company where there's some concessions for loyal, pay in full on-time, customers. I doubt very seriously that you'll be using my feedback for promotional purposes.
Already told you how bad your last two deliveries were. Your explanation of needing 7 to 10 business days was wonderful. If you had made it in 7-10 business days I would have considered it excellent service.. It took more than one call and over a month. You need a better call service, yours is not working. I will be placing my orders in person at your office next time.
Our delivery went smoothly as usual. We have never had to call for a refill as AmeriGas has kept our tank filled as needed. Very personable service driver...he and the missus have even shared plant cuttings for our yards. No complaints here!
I am sad to say that the lid was taken off my propane gas tank and tossed on the ground and not replaced once the delivery was made. Additionally, I have just READ your 20 page contract and will be phoning the office to discuss.....It's a pretty bad contract for the customer...but you clearly don't are.
I'm pleased to get a response, that was a surprise. Issues from the original post which were not addressed are: 1. Why does Amerigas wait to deliver a large volume of gas and then send a budget busting bill? 2. How do I know that the tank wasn't purchased a long time ago by the previous two owners? Does AmeriGas generally bury rental tanks in the ground? The tank has probably been there for over 40 years with each owner of the house paying the rental fee. Do the math. Amerigas has been paid for the tank many times over and yet still wants to charge me $960 for it. Shameless. 3. Challenge to AmeriGas, first respond to this message. Second, find out how long 1364 S.Lakeshore Dr has been a customer of AmeriGas. Barbara Miller was the owner before me. The Gregorys were before the Millers. Did either of them purchase the tank?
This is the most incompetent company I have ever worked with. My home came with an Amerigas tank and I strongly regret ripping it out as soon as I moved in. I switched to will call after they kept coming each week and filling it up yet charging the same amount when I hadn’t even used it. I’ve been paying the ridiculous rental fee each year while searching for another solution and now that I have another tank from a local company, they simply will not come and collect their tank. I called over six months ago to end service and have called back several times since. No one will pick up the tank and they had the audacity to try to charge a tank removal fee of $150. The local number reroutes to an overseas call center who will promise they will take care of it and will have someone call locally. No one has ever called. Please send someone to pick up the tank! I’m going to send a certified letter to see if that creates some traction, but I’m woefully disappointed in this experience.
Poor service with the ones on the 1 800 phone number service people. Your company got to do better or you are going to start losing coustmes including me.
If I could give zero stars I would. They shut off our gas on 2/14 for no reason. My husband and I have both spent hours calling trying to understand why it was shut off and everyone at the call center either tells me they don't know or gives me multiple reasons that didn't doesn't apply to our account. Anytime we asked for a manager they put us on hold and then we are disconnected. They shut off our gas on a Tuesday and then said nobody could come out until Friday, which means no heat in the winter. We received three different appointment confirmations with different times. Wednesday night, we finally got someone state side on the phone and we were told someone would come out that day and there would be no fee since the error was on Amerigas' side. I was then transferred to someone who could confirm when we should be expecting someone. That person then informed us that nobody would be coming that night and it will cost us $289 to turn it back on. She confirmed the appointment time for Friday. Then today, Thursday, I received an email for a different appointment time. At this point I have no idea what is going on and if my account will ever be unlocked. Can't wait until we can get away from AmeriGas. If you have a choice, do not choose them.
