I had Amerigas for many years. I'm going to switch companies now, once I found out I was being price gouged. They filled my tank up in the middle of the summer for $4.10 per gallon. I then found out other companies were charging $1.59. Absolutely not in the same ballpark. After doing research, they charged me over $6 a gallon in the winter while the price from other companies never reached $3. When I called Amerigas and told them this, they just said they do things that other companies don't and they can't control what other companies charge. Three times the price is absurd for the little they do. The other company I called offers the same things. Life is very difficult these days with the price of everything. I'm raising 3 kids on my own and was just disgusted when I found out how bad this was. I don't usually complain much but I feel something needs to be said here. I feel I should contact my local representatives and the better business bureau about this. I can't believe how out of whack this is. I have been charged probably thousands over the past year. From a very disappointed customer. The prices I received from other companies is the same price as what they offer their long term customers. Amerigas is saying that the prices reflect only new customers and that is false. $1.59 for new or existing customers from other companies and $4.10 for Amerigas customers.
Not good at all. For 10 years all you had to do was fill once per year to get rental waived. Now all of the sudden it twice. Well I will be looking for a new supplier. Very unsatisfactory.
Wasn't home so can't really say. Tank was topped off so that was a good thing.
Worst customer service ever since they went to a call center. Would never recommend this company to anyone.
Customer service is horrible! We’ve been customers for 17 years and have no issues until now! I’ve tried for over a month to talk to someone about billing. I’ve sat on hold for over an hour multiple times o my to be hung up on, I’ve tried the online chat and it cannot help with billing questions. I’ve also drove to the Avon site only to see the doors locked. I’m not sure how a long time customer can get help It answers when you make it so difficult. I’m looking at other companies as a result to switch. If I can’t even talk to someone than they really do t want my business! Sorry America’s but you’ve let this loyal customer down!
I cannot understand how service can be so bad. I’ve spent hours this year trying to order propane and am now having the tank run empty for the second time in two months. I’ve spent hours on the phone and they keep saying everything is fixed now, you should be good. I then call back a week later and they act like I never requested a delivery. Spent 1.5hrs on hold on their emergency line before I had to hang up for a meeting. Someone in upper management needs to find a new job after implementing such broken “automated” systems.
Watch out for the FEES if you go with AMERI GAS If the tank is under 5% you would be charged $69.99 service fee and $149.99 early termination fee. For a total of $219.98. If the tank is above 5% you would be charged $69.99 service fee, $149.99 early termination fee, and $149.99 pump out fee. For a total of $369.97. The fees are explained in the attached documents. READ THE SMALL PRINT I WANT TO SWITCH ON ANOTHER COMPANY SO I CAN GET THE GAS CHEAPER. I COULD GET IT FOR 98 CENTS INSTEAD OF $1.34
Over charged me for propane the quoted me one price on the phone and then called and left me a voice mail stating they had to charge 30 cents more as I was in a contract. I called and said don’t fill as that wasn’t the agreed price. The billed me for the unagreed price so my bill was 90 plus dollars more on a 500 Gallon tank fill. Every time I called him he were 20 to 30 cents higher than Ferrell gas. I canceled service after the quoted my next fill at 1.35 and the said no wait you in contract it’s 2.35 a gallon. What in mid summer 2.35 a gallon. I canceled service and the tried to bill me some $133 hazmat fee as their was gas left in the tank which I told them about. They are crooks and liars. I’m taking my business to Ferrell gas. Bottom line I would give this business a 0 star. Spent over a hour fighting on the phone over these BS fees. CROOKS
Topped off 2 30lb propane tanks today one took 25lbs other 15lbs and was charged for a full 20 lb and 30lb fill because "they have to do it that way". Very disappointed and won't be returning.
worst ever automated site- NO callback after holding on line for over 60 mins the first time- leave a message they will call back- 24-48 hours- call never came- called back again- 86 min hold time- worst !! I will go else where.
