Founded in 1991, AMIkids Southwest Florida has a rich history of helping troubled youth transform into productive citizens.
What makes us different? At the center of the AMIkids is our culture, essential as a foundation to everything we do for kids. We provide teens with a values-based environment. Students receive vital direction through role-modeling and showing kids every day, in every situation, what it means to be responsible and accountable. It is this family environment that sets us apart. Our culture is the link between what our kids are capable of and what they choose to become.
The AMIkids Personal Growth Model (PGM) is designed to target and reduce the risk factors that sustain delinquent behavior and academic failure, reduce recidivism, improve program completion rates, and promote academic achievement. Currently AMIkids Southwest Florida has a 79% success rate.
In order for our communities to prosper, we must provide our kids with a high quality education and essential life skills to become responsible and productive citizens. For troubled kids striving to become contributing members of the community, obstacles to achieving success can seem insurmountable.
Our youth face a variety of challenges: violence, family dysfunction, and the pressure of using drugs and alcohol. These challenges do not have to define our kids. Our kids can overcome. Our kids can be successful. Our kids can achieve. Together, we can assist our kids to separate a troubled past from a bright future.
