Traditional Korean Karate School (Tang Soo Do) High Quality Instruction with NO CONTRACTS!
For more than 31 years Master Samuel Wallace, a 6th Dan (6th Degree Black Belt) has been teaching the art of Tang Soo do in the Upper Darby community.
Master Wallace holds a degree in Special Education from Penn State University and teaches Physical Education at the prestigious St. Aloysius Academy in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Master Wallace is especially adept at teaching learning disabled and physically impaired children in both the private and regular classroom settings.
Master Wallace's personal philosophy on Martial Arts training is that a well-structured training program can benefit children both mentally and physically. Master Wallace believes this can be done without the intense pressure and competitiveness that most sports require. Though Martial Arts training is similar to other sports, children can attain enhanced levels of confidence and self-esteem by setting goals and developing themselves in a disciplined environment.
Born in Seoul, Korea in 1956 and adopted by Dr. Anthony and Betty Wallace at age six, Master Wallace began training under Master Scott in 1977 at Amkor Karate Institutes in Aston because he wanted to experience something associated with his Korean heritage. Master Wallace now serves as a public speaker on adoption in both the United States and abroad.
Master Wallace was the first student of Master Scott's (8th Dan, President of Traditional Tang Soo Do International, and Founder of Amkor Karate) to reach Master level, and tested before Grandmaster Hwang, Kee (Founder of the Moo Duk Kwan style of Tang Soo Do) in 1991. Also, Master Wallace was rated by Karate Illustrated in the Top 10 in Forms in the Mid-Atlantic Region and was the National Champion in 3rd Dan Fighting at the United States Tang Soo Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation Nationals.
Master Wallace's students have excelled in all areas of Martial Arts competition at the state, regional, national, and international levels. Master Wallace was the coach of the United States team that won the Team Forms competition at the 6th International Tang Soo Do Championships held in 1995. He has also represented the United States as an official at international events in Greece, Malaysia, and the United States.
All of these life and martial arts experiences have truly made Master Wallace a "Master Teacher" who is able to instruct every student he has both individually and in groups settings.
