THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! To Steven and Justin for taking such good care of my family member during their emergency. The fire department was annoying I know they were only trying to help but the AMR paramedic and emt were incredible! My family thanks you both! God Bless you guys!
Transported me to Hospital. I got on Ambulance with my Glasses on. One of the AMR Employees removed my glasses before someone put a tube up my nose and failed to put them back on me. I never saw my glasses again. I was in capacitated. They are responsible for all my possessions I had with me when they loaded me on to Ambulance. My fellow employees, where I work, agree I had my glasses on when AMR Staff put on their Ambulance. I can not get an cooperation from AMR. Very rude and belittling. Can't get Corporate Number. Can't get their business Lic. #. I will not pay a penny to them. I need their Business Lic. # to file a Complaint against it. I will also file a Small Claims action. But they continue to ignore my request for information about their Company. Terrible Company.
Their billing department is so horrible that they decided to code my son's respiratory failure where he spent 5 days in the hospital as a non emergency transport, so now my insurance company can try to deny coverage as a non emergency ambulance transport. Even my health insurance company is confused about why AMR codes it as a non emergency. AMR explained that because an ER doctor called the ambulance for my son, instead of calling 911, that the ambulance is considered a non emergency, even though my son needed supplemental oxygen during the ambulance trip. Furthermore, AMR said they they would fix this but only sent an unfixed claim again to my insurance. My insurance company has never seen anything like this, and my only path now is through the insurance company. AMR is ridiculous !!!! What a huge waste of time this company is. I spent 6 hours on the phone with them so far over the past year. My insurance representative also came to my aid and accused the AMR representative of being rude to me by talking over me during the conference call with my insurance company. UPDATE: My insurace company overruled AMR's decision which was wrong and paid out, but it took 1.5 years of work on my part to win this one.
I could not get them to bill our insurance so we just ended up paying for the bill from sheer frustration. Then they sent us a refund. We thought we were done with this. Now, TWO YEARS later we have been sent to collections! What in the world? We have no idea what they are doing. I have never in my life been sent to collections. No bill, no notice, nothing. Just a letter stating we are now in collections. Now we are back to WWIII with them. My husband is at the point he is just going to pay the collection agency to be rid of this company. How sad that a big company like this can't get their billing worked out. The sad thing is they just had to call us and tell us if they made an error and we would have paid it.
Ridiculous amount of money charged. No medical treatment given, just a 2 mile ride to the hospital. Charged $2300. Billing department won't work with the insurance company. Unethical to charge that amount, especially considering the low wages they pay the EMTs. First time in my life calling 911 for myself. Next time I'll get an Uber. Probably get there just as fast for 20 bucks.
Not sure if it was the Rancho Cucamonga office that transported me, but this review is NOT regarding the EMTs. AMR's billing department is the WORST to deal with. They will NOT cooperate with insurance companies, as most medical providers do. After arguing with my insurance, the insurance agreed to pay the additional amount demanded by AMR. AMR was paid the balance on 7/11, after I had already paid an additional $100. I called AMR at then end of July to check my refund status. I was told it went to refund processing on 7/25. Today is 8/22 and allegedly it's still in processing. No one in customer non-service can tell me a time frame for receiving a refund. When asking to speak to a supervisor, it took over a week and a half to receive a call, which I couldn't get to. A call today to get the supervisor was a waste. After waiting 20 minutes, I was told I could call back later. If you have a choice, in my opinion, do NOT deal with AMR.
At 7pm on May 24, without notice my 61 year old husband collapsed and stopped breathing. While my daughter called 911, I tended to my husband. Within minutes the professional staff of fire department and AMR were on the scene, ...long story short..my husband was taken to ED. I have been a nurse for 30 plus years always caring for others never needing the care of our dedicated EMS personnel. I am so grateful for the care provided my husband and to the kindness and concern offered me. As they cared for him, they coached me on what to take to hospital and reassured me that I did everything right. They stayed with me, gave me bottled water and escorted me to ambulance. Come to learn the ambulance drivers father and I had worked together at SACH for decades. It's really a small world. I am grateful and indebted to all involved. If AMR reads this I hope they can ID who was involved and share my appreciation.
My mom was picked up late from an LTAC to Riverside Community hospital’s heart care institute for an outpatient procedure with a scheduled check in at 7AM. The hosp is 30mins away. We’ve been sitting at the lobby for 2hrs from 6:30-8:30AM as I am suppose to sign the consent & we still haven’t seen her come in. Only to find out they took my mom in via ED when they were suppose to go thru Heart Care Institute entrance as per instructions by the LTAC’s Case Manager. Even the receptionists were not aware the patient is already inside. What a carelessness of the ambulance crew & they may have exposed my already immuno-compromised mom to CoVid in ED. Where’s the patient care & compassion there? Just pure business?
AMR responded to a call at my dad's house Thursday night for being agitated. He is 90 years old. We felt the female ambulance person was very impatient with him trying to get the line in his hand and had a hard time while he was sitting up holding his hand down. At the hospital they could not use the line and pulled it out which showed it was bent, probably pushed in because if her impatience. His hand was bloodied when he arrived and not cleaned on the bumpy ride to the hospital. Very disappointed in their service to an elderly vet.
This review is not for service provided which was fine. This review is for billing which should lead the county to pull this contract immediately. We are a military family that used this service and then provided insurance information within 5 days of receipt of bill. 45 days later, we are now being threatened with collections and THERE IS NO WAY TO REACH THIS COMPANY. The nice answering service gentleman I just talked to on my third call is in the Philippines. They will call me back??? Yeah, right. Next step is to research who at the county contracts ambulance service and file a formal complaint. Being sick and needing such a service is bad enough, feeling harassed because this company is totally incompetent and can't file and collect on insurance is unacceptable.
