Great vibe. The food is excellent . The hamburger is way better than most. Definitely a great burger. The bartender was especially nice and very helpful. She gets 5 stars for sure. Our waitress was excellent as well. This is an outstanding local place with a great bar and no tourists. You'll feel right at home here immediately. Prices are moderate. Everything about this place is great. Not especially fancy but just the kind of place you'd want to hang out, meet friends and grab a drink and a bite. Highly recommended.
Great drink selection but service... Saw a fight break out there last night. Client didn't pay his bill. He walked out after argument with waitress. She closed the door in his face and gave him the finger. Instablishment could of been professional by letting it go and cut their losses but customer was screaming from window and waitress went back towards him, in his face, and he slapped her in her face. Hope daytime staff have better judgement and more professionalism. But yeah... Great drink list and all the stars are for that fact only.
The beer list at this place is great! Most of the bartenders and waitresses are friendly and attentive. The high top tables are a little awkward and packed in too tightly but if you can snag a seat at the bar or the tables in the window you're fine. There are frequently karaoke nights which are lots of fun and often there are different beer events promoting different brews. Some of the crowd can be a bit pretentious and at least one of the bartenders is a total jerk. But if you catch it on the right night, Amsterdam Tavern is a good time.
This place is pretty loud, but it's a good place to meet up with people if you need to go to a bar in the Columbia area. There are lots of undergrads around, and it does tend to get crowded. The service is pretty fast, and you can order food and get it quickly. The pricing is good, and it's a very convenient easy-to-find location that's hopping.
Pretty small place, but some really nice beer on tap, great service, and much better food than I would have thought at a bar. Definitely going to come back next time I'm in the area
The beer is great and the food is OK, but the people that work there suck! The manager was extremely rude. I will never return and I recommend that women do no go there.
Great regular watering hole. Regular service, good beer selection. Just a run of the mill neighborhood bar
