Get off first and get some yummy burritos. They're cheap, warm, and pretty darn tasty. She had bean/ cheese and red chili potato. Bring some hot sauce with you. $3 each, bring cash, and tip her for God's sake, she's so welcoming.
Just left my elderly parents off at the station for their trip to Alpine TX. A Lady at the ticket counter --- Guadalupe ---- was the most helpful person I have come across in a very long time!!!! This was our first time there. She explained everything to us, snd even arranged a cart to help them get themselves and their luggage to their train car! Kudos to you, Guadalupe, for your helpfulness, efficiency, kindness, and respect our elders deserve, but are hardly shown in today's world! It's as though some people forget --- we will ALL be elderly one day!
Paul at customer service just hung up on me,really bad customer service,Amtrak is not even trying to treat customers right. Also the bathroom my 1st class bedroom was not sanitized when I went on my last trip. This company needs a serious audit on many levels.
My sister-in-law had taking the train from Ft. Worth, TX to El Paso on her bucket list so we met at at the El Paso train station on her arrival. We were surprised to see so many people there, arriving and departing. The station is very clean and the staff very helpful. You just might want to stop by and grab a brochure about El Paso or glimpse the architecture from a time gone by!
Great. Down town is a good place to be around, nice restaurants and hotel, are ready to welcome the visitors, they follow the safety rules.
Quiet place easy access to boarding and large waiting area.
I stopped at the El Paso Amtrak station on September 29th while enroute to Alpine Texas and then again, while enroute back to Los Angeles. Anyway, this is where the burrito lady works and she greets her customers very warmly. I bought a burrito each way and it only costed me $3 which isn't bad at all. It tasted really good and was fulfilling. I will make sure to stop and purchase her tasty burrito again on my next AmTrak train trip which will be 2-3 months away.
A scenic and spacious Amtrak station reminiscent of a time when passenger railroads were much more significant across America. They did a great job restoring the station to its original glory after the misguided earlier attempts to 'modernize' it. Despite the infrequent rail service and the excessively old posters on the walls, I feel nostalgia for a time I never even experienced - its something of a museum piece by itself. There's tons of seating inside, as well as a small lunchroom with vending machines and old school tables with stools. The only thing I would request is a public wifi network in the station.
I took Amtrak because the ticket was cheaper than greyhound, everybody says the train is faster than the bus, BS. I was coming to El Paso for a job opportunity, Thursday 9a-3p, on the spot hiring. Wednesday morning, train was 4 hours late, long story short, we arrived 2 hours after the event was over.
station building and platform has limited access to ticket passengers only
