The worse!!!! This train station does not have a bathroom, no one here to help direct you to correct platform. The information screen time is incorrect, track information is incorrect. You have no idea what track the train will arrive or depart. It is currently 11:24 am. The screen is broken. Do better AMTRAK!!!!
Such a great and relaxing little town/city. They have one of the best coffee shops besides the ones in Cary, NC.
Good experience. Benches to sit on while I waited and wasn’t to hard to find the way to the platform. The train itself was a very nice and smooth ride.
Decent station. Handicap accessible and there’s covering for weather, but no inside location and no bathrooms. The train is a great way to get up to DC and beyond. The nearest Parking lots require passes FYI. Use the VRE to commute to lower your carbon footprint and I’ll love you forever.
The best way the get to work outside of teleworking. Friendly staff, great communication and goes around talking to passengers. This connection to the riders is very important as questions ask by a few people are passed on to us all. The website is one of the better ones. Displays train status and important information. The cost of ridership is very reasonable. Free parking at many locations.
Avoid like the plague and do not trust the signs or announcements if you have to use this platform it's not a real station; no staff, no bathrooms. You will probably miss your train because you will be directed to the wrong track and by the time you realize it, there will be no time to get to the right track. Amtrak will also make you pay the difference to change your ticket even though it wasn't your fault. I've been on a hundred trains in Europe and never once was directed to the wrong track or missed a train. It's completely unacceptable that Amtrak does not provide the correct information. Trains going south were on track 2 and trains going north were on track 3 in September 2020, but the electronic signs and audio announcements were not actually updated properly for half the Amtrak trains. You just have to watch for a train arriving and hope you can make it under the tracks and up again on the other side to ask where the train is going. No way anyone with mobility issues would be able to catch the train from here.
Horrible experience. The loudspeaker announced that my train, 65, would come to track 3, so when train 87 showed up at track 2, I assumed it was not my train. Then, when I checked the train status, it said train 65 had departed already. I called Amtrak and it turns out that train 87 had been my train, but how was I supposed to know if it was not labeled as 65, which was what was on my ticket, AND it was on the wrong track. I never received any notification that my train number had changed OR that the track number had changed. There was another man on the same platform as me who was also trying to take train 65 to a FUNERAL, but this same situation had happened to him for the past THREE DAYS in a row, and he missed the train AGAIN due to misinformation given by the Amtrack announcement and website. To make it worse, the departure board was frozen and displayed the wrong times.
Adequate station with VRE and Amtrak service; it is unstaffed and there are no bathrooms. The tracks are side-by-side, dividing the station; the platform for each track is separate. Thus, if you guess the wrong track, you have to hustle through the tunnel under the tracks to reach the opposite platform. Boarded Amtrak there this morning and it was confusing at first which of the two tracks we needed. There are info screens, which appear to be a fairly recent addition. It is important to pay attention to the screens when waiting for your train. The track for our train was posted, but only a few minutes prior to the train’s arrival.
You never know which side your train is going to arrive on. When the train pulls in, if you’re on the wrong platform, you get to dash down the stairs and up to the other side, what fun! Hope you get there before the doors close
Not reliable at all…if you really need to get somewhere DO NOT DEPEND ON AMTRAk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I’ve been using Amtrak for about 20 years and I use them often….most times my train is 30 minutes to an hour delayed..I’ve missed funerals and more family events…also why not update customers of delays via email or something so that we could be more prepared….the one in Fredericksburg va IS BY FAR THE WORSE….no shelter..no rest rooms..no one there to assist…I think this is gonna be my last time using them
