Andrew J. Shapiro m MD, FACS is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and has been in private practice in South Florida since 2006. He treats the full range of general surgical problems using a variety of techniques. In addition to excellence in laparoscopic and traditional open surgery, Dr. Shapiro employs the latest techniques for minimally invasive surgery(MIS). During his career, Dr. Shapiro has held various positions at area hospitals, including: Surgical Peer Review Committee Member at JFK Medical Center , Medical Executive Committee at the Palms West Surgicenter, Chairman of the Cancer Committee and Department of Surgery Peer Review Committee at Wellington Regional Medical Center . Dr. Shapiro also holds academic appointments. He is Voluntary Assistant Professor of Surgery at University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and Affiliate Clinical Assistant Professor of Biomedical Science at Florida Atlantic University .
