Unfortunately I have to rate this establishment on how my husband felt and was profiled. He came in  12/28 at around 2:15PM and whoever at the front that was helping was rude and acted like he was going to do something to her. My advice is, being in an urban neighborhood train your employees to be accepting of all types of guest and leave the miro aggression at home. I told him I wouldn’t have even bought a cupcake as soon as I felt I was being discriminated against. Being from Oakland and seeing how much it has changed it’s appalling. Especially with dealing with establishments like this. My husband is an elite Yelper and I’ve encouraged him to share his experience as this was unacceptable.

I've had their cupcakes once before and they were good. They are a local business and I wanted to support them, but it's simply too much hassle. I called one Friday to ask about the cupcakes they would have that day, flavors change daily and I wanted to sample some before deciding on my custom cake, and they told me they were not opening that day because they had too many orders to fulfill. The days and times they are open are very limited, so I eventually gave up on the idea of trying the cupcakes before ordering and finally emailed them to inquire about my decorations options. I emailed them to the email address listed on their website. It did say they're busy and it could take a couple of days for them to get back to me. But after 3 days and no response I decided to call. According to Google Maps, they were open that day and time but nobody answered, so I left a voicemail. After an email and a voicemail, still nobody reached back. Two days later I call again and they tell me nobody saw my email 'cause I sent it to the wrong address WHICH IS LISTED ON THEIR WEBSITE. I express that my inquiry is now somewhat urgent considering that I wasted almost a whole week waiting for a custom order inquiry to be answered. They ask me to send the email again to a different address and they'll get back to me asap. Well, that was two days ago. Their cupcakes were good that one time that I tried them but I emailed three other businesses in the area with great reviews and they all responded in less than an hour. It's not rocket science who'll get my business.

This is my favorite dessert spot! Their cupcakes and cakes are amazing! Super moist, plenty of frosting, and beautiful! My favorites are the passionfruit cake and the lemon/passionfruit cupcakes. The shop is super cute, and they are easy to work with for special orders.

We ordered a mini cupcake for everyone at our wedding and they were very popular. We had several taste options, having visited and tried the different flavors. We also got a small cake 'topper' for ourselves. They were all delicious. Consider giving this small venue your business. You won't be disappointed. Btw, if you looking for the Angel Cakes that used to be off Tenth Street in Berkeley, you found it. They moved since our order to Oakland on 5th & Brush St.  Update: We picked up Angel cakes for our anniversary, getting there just before/at closing. The staff is extremely nice, and the display has many to choose from.

I bought 4 cupcakes for a vendor so I never got to taste it but the selection was great and the cupcakes presented well. Wish I could try the zinfandel next time. I grabbed the last one!

We ordered our wedding cakes from Angel Cakes and they were an absolute hit! There were so many flavors to choose from, it was tough to narrow down. We chose vegan rose cardamom and vegan earl grey cakes and cupcakes, plus a few cupcakes in each flavor that were gluten-free. It cannot be overstated that these were crowd pleasers for vegans and omnivores alike! Jen did an incredible job decorating the cakes as well - they were perfect for our spooky theme. I will absolutely buy more cake and cupcakes here any time I have an excuse.

Discovered this place literally by accident. While making a left onto 5th street from Brush St. heading towards Jack London Square, I happened to see their sandwich board sign on the corner of 5th and Brush. It was really random. Anyhow, the first time I saw their signage, was on a saturday and they closed early, so I made sure the next time I was in the area, I would stop by.  This bakery is located in a building that looks like a gingerbread house from the outside, it's really cute. The trim is painted with fun colors.  The bakery is small inside. When you enter, there is a small sitting room to the left hand side, and a display of the cupcakes on white pedestals in a display case in front of you.  The cupcakes can also be gluten free or vegan. There are signs next to the cupcake pedestals that list the ingredients. The cupcakes are $3 each.  I ended up buying 3 cupcakes, 1 is gluten free. I haven't had the chance to try them yet, but am looking forward to consuming them.  Parking is free and it's all street parking.

We had Angel Cakes make us a wedding cake and cupcakes for our special day this past weekend and they did an AMAZING job! All of our guest devoured the cup cakes and were raving about the great flavors! Highly, highly recommend the team at Angel Cakes for all your cake and cupcake needs!

Great cupcakes and they are beautifully decorated. They were delivered as ordered for my special party. I highly recommend this place for their products!

So moist their cup cakes are and the flavor are so tasty. I tried the Vanilla, wish I’d gotten more. I love vanilla flavoring and they’re so moist not soggy don’t get it twisted you almost think it’s filled inside. The first one I had was caramel and chocolate and I thought the caramel was going to spill out if it. I will for sure come back.
