Always friendly staff, ready to help. Doctors n Techs are knowledge, and make sure you understand treatments risks and benefits, and costs up front. No judgement on decisions made and reasons. Best of all, the ONLY place my brat, grumpy cat baby can be herself and not be judged lol.
They entire staff was wonderful. We are visiting from Colorado and both my dogs developed severe diarrhea. My black lab Shelby is always extremely nervous. We were concerned with her anxiety but the tech just handled her without a word but with a soft touch. My Chihuahua is also very nervous but did not show any anxiety once the tech picked her. What an incredible staff. Thank you
I went there because someone referred me, due to the fact that another veterinarian nearly killed my feline. I had to wait longer than anticipated, but it was well worth it. The staff is patient and caring. The doctor may ve handling animals a bit ruff, but he does only what is necessary and explains the steps to take. Very transparent and honest. Thank you so much for loving all animals and understanding our concerns as pet parents
I was telling the problem with my cat, and I found the vet assistant nodding and not even listening. Wound spending $420.17 and did nothing improved because of them, with cat. In fact, somehow the soft tissue damage, cruelly spread from one leg to the other, which is I know is physically impossible. Misdiagnosed my cat to make money. I believe this place should be shut down
Had to take my mom cat Meow-Meow and my grand kitten Thomas here due to vomiting, etc. Thomas had to stay overnight due to parvo. mom tested negative. They gave me financial estimates prior to completing any services and let me know what treatment would consist of. He is home and seems to be doing fine. One more follow up to go. They saved my babies life.
They are so caring, thorough, and so good to me and all my pets!! The staff is great and I love Dr Wheat and her compassion!!
Dr. Wheat has been the most compassionate and understanding veterinarian I have ever come across. She helped my sweet Haku transition to kitty heaven comfortably. She respected my decisions. I tried to do everything I could for his best interested. Thanks to Dr. Wheat I was blessed with 2 more happy months with Haku. He was my first pet and I had him for almost half of my life. The authenticity and empathy she provided was what I needed.This was the most difficult decision I had to make. I didn't even have to say many words when it was his time. It is really hard to talk about his passing. I think she deserves this great review and it is way overdue. This is the kind of Veterinarian you want to treat your pets. Thank you so much Dr. Wheat. Dr. Jean Waguespack and her staff at AGH saw my pet on a busy weekday. I could tell on the call from sounds of dogs in the background that they most likely had a full schedule of pets. Even with that, they quickly scheduled my pet after an explanation of his complications. During the exam, my pet was greeted with pets and hugs. He was seen promptly, examined throughly by Dr. Jean, and I was given an explanation of what she thought could be causing his issues. Her and her staff gave me a breakdown of an itemized receipt and explained each subtotal and total. Before leaving, we were given instructions on what to do to get him feeling like himself again and told, "if he shows any signs of getting worse or doesn't get better in the next 24 - 48 hours, please call immediately." Unfortunately, he began to decline and early the next morning I called AGH again. The vet tech that answered knew exactly who I was and what my pet was seen for. She immediately called Dr. Jean who promptly scheduled us for a return exam to figure out why my pets health took a turn downward. I took my pet to AGH and unfortunately had to go to work. They ensured that he was in good hands and I did trust the knowledge and care they showed. Once Dr. Jean had examined my pet, she called and explained everything that was occuring and the care that he recieved and was going to recieve in hopes to get him back to a stable condition. Again, an explanation of pricing was given. And after agreeing to the care and pricing, they immediately began to work on my pet. He showed some signs of improvement, but he was not yet stable and I recieved another call about his health. Dr. Jean explained that she would like for him to go to an emergency vet in order to recieve continued care over the weekend. Her and her staff gave me an thorough explanation of his improvement and also recommendations of emergency vet care within the surrounding area. Upon discharge, Dr. Jean had already forwarded my pets records to the emergency vet in the area, and had even gone out of her way to give a rundown and referral to the emergency vet before my arrival. I was grateful for that extra effort, it made the stressful experience of transfer easier. My experience with AGH was great and I am definitely going to make them my primary veterinary care in the Columbus, GA area. Dr. Jean is knowledgeable, caring, and understanding. Her and her staff explained everything in great detail. The breakdown of pricing was thorough and easy to understand. And lastly, my pet was treated as if he was one of their own. Dr. Jean and AGH staff, thank you for showing the level of care you did. I was nervous about my pets condition and you all did a wonderful job of getting him back to stable conditions. I look forward to bring him back to you for routine care.
If I could give it a zero I would. The ONLY reason I came here is bc benning animal merged with them. Big mistake. Every two seconds someone would come into the exam room with an addition charge. Money hungry is an understatement. The staff is incompetent. Per what a vet says the staff does something opposite then lies to the vet about what they did when confronted. Vet get upset when you question charges and don’t understand why they can’t give you a real explanation for things instead of “that’s just how it is” explanations are vague and inconsistent. Mind you employees of benning animals that went to animal general left to go to Summerville Vet due to not agreeing with practices done there. That in itself should tell you enough. Not only did I have to fight for money back for services that were not done I ended up going to a different vet due to the treatment and disgust I’ve experienced with this one. Not one vet cares for your pet in that company DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET THERE!
AGH is the best care facility for your pet, we have been going their with our dogs since 1983 when returned from FRG there has been times that they had to put some of our pets due to illness it was done with care and with dignity every time. we just got a new dog that turns out to have heart worm the dog is young without symptoms they say it looks very promising to beat this because of her age, the are working hard and set up a treatment program, I feel its the right thing to do we will wait and see
