Located in downtown’s historic Nickels Arcade, the company is both family-owned and conveniently located. Owner Fred Farrand and his staff firmly believe in a client-focused approach to tax preparation and planning services and have been serving their longtime clients, now locally and worldwide, for the last 35 years.
The Tax Service’s location at the corner of the University of Michigan’s Quadrangle - S. State St. and N. University Ave. - means that the company has long served the school’s faculty, staff, and students. They are especially aware of the unique tax matters relevant to University educators, as well as foreign nationals who work or study temporarily in the United States.
The company provides services that include personal tax preparation, trust tax preparation, and small business tax preparation - including sole proprietorships, partnerships, and small corporations. Additionally, they also provide small business account and payroll services. They have a large number of tax clients who are now retired and are well-versed in the issues pertaining to those clients as well.
