It is district court. What can you say. Also the building contains a commissioner and several social services offices. The social services offices tend to have long lines and waits. The court staff here are great and there is ample free parking! Make sure you double check before your court date to ensure you are here and not in Annapolis.
Very corrupt judicial system in place here, my judge rolled her eyes when I asked a simple question I needed to know, wouldn't even listen to my testimony she already had her mind made up about my case just by listening to the officers side. If you get a speeding ticket just do the pre pay, you get charged $40 for testifying your case
I showed up for a scheduled court appearance “ Are you vaccinated?” I’m not required by any laws that I’m aware of to disclose that kind of personal medical information to enter a public space. Am I? I was denied access solely on the basis that I did not feel comfortable disclosing my medical history to the security guard. When I asked for a letter stating that I in fact showed up for my appointed court case at the appropriate time. The guard said he isn’t going to give me anything and I have to leave! I asked to speak with his supervisor. He pointed above him toward the second floor bannister where his supervisor was standing watching the whole encounter. The security yelled up to him “ he won’t answer the vaccination question!” So, we’re now yelling across the entire courthouse about medical information. The supervisor responded that if I didn’t want to answer the question then I had to leave the building while also denying me any documentation that I was at the courthouse. I was discriminated against because I was unwilling to disclose my personal medical health information at a public courthouse. Let that sink in!! THIS IS BLATANT DISCRIMINATION
parking is free, and there is plenty. Unlike the court house in PG- which isn't surprising, nothing in that county is above mediocre. This is a smaller building, but everyone I spoke to was very pleasant, the ladies in the clerks office are very nice and informative. I don't have much experience with court houses, only having dealt with PG, but my experience was very pleasant. I arrived too late for what I needed living 45 minutes away, but that's ok- at least I didnt have to pay for parking. ha!
"Am I speaking Chinese?" no, but you're condescending, hostile, and clearly ignorant. How do these people expect the people, that you guys summon, into the clerk office to respect them when they constantly speak and look down on the people asking for information regarding their court date. This whole judicial system is a joke. My date was postponed and I was not only NOT notified of the date change, but was constantly told I had no court date today when I did. "I'm trying to help you." are you, cause you're speaking to me, along with everyone else in a terse manner and contradicting your colleagues directions on what to do. -An Asian American woman
Horrible, slow - I won a legal case and have a Warrant of Restitution to remove a squatter from my home. The eviction is approved yet I've been waiting three weeks just for a judges signature because 'they got behind' and 'had judges on vacation'. Meanwhile I have a squatter in my home and I have to pay the bills for them mortgage, water and electric until this is resolved. I already had to wait a month for the trial where the eviction was won. The clerks are nice when you call so kudos to them but zero on actual process and the court doing it's job. They can't get give me a ETA, who has my case or it's standing. And there no ability to escalate or speak to someone about this beyond the clerks. This is a bad, broken process penalizing home owners due to their poor service. As citizens, we should not be tolerating this.
Clerk was cheerful and respectful. Listened and answered two short questions without any degree of hassle. She answered the phone without too long of a wait and was cordial throughout the call confirming my thoughts as to my too filing problems.
Since I left the court house on the 16th I have been looking deeper into this particular man, who had been or was obviously intoxicated on the 16th. He is a probation officer who paraded this young lady throughout the courthouse, up and down the stair, talking down to her as if she was some kind of misfit on display. Myself along with many others some of which I got names and info were surprised to see how loud he was being in front of people. The girl looked embarrassed as her personal information got shouted not only in the courtroom but as well as outside the courtroom. As I look further into the situationand his past...I am seeing a lot of discrimination. I will post more as I follow up.
I was on probation here at one point in my life for a crime I didn't even commit .... needless to say I did community service work and then was told after I accumulated hours that the P.O. that assigned me to the work could not do so and I did it for nothing. Employees here give false information alot and there's definitely some hidden corruption around there hopefully that has changed recently.
Room 205 miss Romy was very helpful with me following my paperwork. She went above and beyond to help me.
