Anni Maliki's designs dance - through texture, color, pattern, the way they catch the light, swing on a hinge, fall from the ear or contour the wrist. To do this, Anni exploits silver’s versatile textures (granulation, hammering, chasing, mirror-finish), patterns (etching, oxidation, layering) and sculptural possibilities.
Anni looks to nature for inspiration and finds great solace in the act of looking. 'Bling' holds little interest for her, as she prefers to achieve confident, contemporary sophistication through simplicity - as Nature herself does. And so she gravitates towards organic materials like pearls, stones, shell, seeds, leather, wood, rather than expensive stones and gold.
