Let's do NaNoWriMo all year long - AnNoWriMo! (Another Novel Writing Month.) The idea is to write something every day; keep fingers, pens, keys loose.
November is National Novel Writing Month (http://nanowrimo.org). It's the time when hundreds of thousands of writers of all ages and ilk from around the world do something together - they write for thirty days with the goal of pumping out 50,000 words. No polish or spell-check activity allowed, this is the time for the draftiest of drafts. Just git er done is the theme of the day.
2012 was my year to finish my first NanoWrimo and be in the Winner's Circle. What honor does that bestow? I can just say I did it. And you can too. You can wait until November and join the rest of the world and hope that you too will write your first draft of the next great novel (or any novel at all) and I'll cheer you on as will many others. Or you could get started right (write) away.
I fully intend to have that first draft of mine rewritten and polished until it's publishable material so there's no shortage of work for me. But I believe in you - way more than you do - and I'm here to pray for you, encourage you, and let you pour out your frustrations when you think you can't go on.
I'm hoping many more will get on board, become friends, meet online or in person in your own areas for writing sessions to encourage one another. This is sort of a Meet-Up without the formality.
I hope to hear from you soon!
Happy tales to you!
To encourage writers of all ages to get into the practice of writing.
