Considerate service. Friendly waitress who knew the menu items and could and wanted to help. Decent beers and mixed drinks. Small house salad easily feed's two. The 2 wings and meatball sampler was earnestly offered and was free. Good sauce. Nothing was spicy hot. Eggplant dishes are excellent. Things tasted fresh. Interesting oven. Never shuts off. Pizza dough for thin pizza was very good. Things were a bit bland hence the lack of 5th star. my wife thought things were seasoned well. Try it out write what you think. I'd go back with friends. Reasonable prices. Very, very good.
What a wonderful meal at Anthony’s Coal Fire Pizza! We stubbled to this place just by chance and it closed at 9pm on a Sunday. They were super nice and accomodating. They didn’t rush us or anything even though they were closing at 10pm. The waitress was very nice. She even brought us complimentary chicken wings while we waited for our pizza because she said it was our first time here. We ordered a salad. It was delish! The pizza’s are coal fired and they were excellent. We got "white out pizza" that had ricotta. The mushroom pizza was excellent too. We ordered meatballs and they had ricotta on the side. That was very yummy mix of flavors. The restaurant itself is cozy and warm and it has a modern feel at the same time. The manager even came over to introduce himself and make sure we were enjoying our meal. He said they have another location planned to open in Lombard area soon.
In the realm of casual restaurant reviews this place is as good as it gets. The Italian sausage and pepper pizza is nice and spicy and a perfect compliment to a more simple option like the cheese pizza. Meatballs are dense and flavorful and are a meal of their own with the breadsticks to soak up that marinara sauce. Chicken wings are the way I prefer; non-breaded and baked...didn’t even use any sauce on them. Just perfect. The salad is a nice cold dish to enjoy afterwards too. I feel good after eating this hearty meal, which is not typical of a Chicago pizza experience. You must check this place out! If you’re a football fan, HOF’er class of 2005 Dan Marino is a partner and there’s all kinds of great inspirational photos and quotes all over the walls.
Excellent Service. Excellent Pizza. Fresh, Crispy and Tasty. Wonderful manager. Very nice rewards club at no charge! I can’t wait to go back and try other specialty pizzas. Strongly recommended.
Great spot !! Pizza was gorgeous & tasty !! The bartender too!! lol I got lucky and hit it late right b4 closing & almost had the place to myself. The staff was super friendly and provided excellent service. That PIZZA tho !!!
Excellent pizza! And the meatball and wing appetizers were great also. Nice selection of draft beers. Would definitly come back next time we are in the area.
Hungry after a round of golf, we saw pizza and thought why not? I am so glad we did. Michelle our server/bartender was amazing. The portions are definitely large enough for 2 to share but if you get your own, there’s leftovers for lunch the next day. The coal oven they use gives the crust a delicious unique flavor on top of the fresh quality ingredients they use. Prices are a bit higher than average pizza place, but is more than justified by the quality of the food you receive. You can taste the difference on the first bite. We were in there the last hour before closing but never once felt rushed or cleaned around like you do at some other places. I would highly recommend. The whole staff, especially Michelle, is friendly and care about providing great service and great food. My only disappointment is I didn’t know about this place sooner and I couldn’t try everything on the menu at once!
Not your average pizza joint, in fact not sure they have just plain old cheese and sausage. That's not a knock against them at all, it's just because everything else is so much better. We had the egg plant pizza and loved it, can't wait to go back and try the spinach artichoke one next! Excellent service and atmosphere to go along with a pretty cool bar.
This restaurant has AMAZING food! You must order the app with two meatballs. It comes with a dollop of cheese and the most wonderful soft flatbread I've ever had. The pizza is awesome too! Had a custom 10" pizza with baby meatballs and bacon. The bacon is top notch and thick cut. The salad had super tasty vinaigrette dressing. Highly recommend!
Great quality food! Coal fired pizza is similar in taste and texture to brick oven style with the crunchy thin crust. All of their ingredients are fresh. I love the meatballs, ricotta, and sausage best. Ask for fresh basil to top your pizza. Staff and drinks are also spectacular.
