Antiques On The Square

When I arrived I noticed the door had its store hours posted. It closes at 5p. I sauntered in to get a quick look Jeanne and Cherry who work there, were chillin in rocking chairs and chatting. They were both smiling and warm as I approached them. They told me there were 3 levels and over 30 dealers in this old historical building on the town square. They told me about their birthday promotion of an addtl 10% and made sure I was on the list before I left. Not looking for anything in particular, I just love old antique ,things. I found a lovely, slightly worn, pastel and floral quilt. It was marked 35.00. I descended the stairs only to find another handmade artifact..another quilt. A scalloped edged wedding ring quilt done in bold navy and red, marked 30.00. Stone dinnerware caught my attention as I was giving the place a last once over. A pattern I had NEVER seen on an old service of china. There are 75 peices to the full set of 12. They are heavy and well made with stunning imagery. And when you want a diffrent view, just turn the cup halfway and there is a whole diffrent scene. Oh did I mention 50.00..Jeanna did exactly as she stated and I never had to ask or prod her. She called both owners of each quilt and got an addtl discount, and of her own accord. This place is special and the people representing its dealers are invaluable. Noone, not on a retail level has ever gone so far out of the way for customer satisfaction. I cant say enough good things about this place.

Some booths are high in their prices. But it is a wonderful place to shop. The owners are really nice and the employees are very helpful.
