Update 9/30 - now, the outdoor section of the gym is only open when staff is here which is a huge inconvenience. That was probably the best thing about this gym. It is currently Saturday at 1PM and the outdoor section which is basically half the gym is closed. Not everyone works out during staff hours. *they finally fixed the urinal 9/30 Update 9/5 - all the previous issues still stand, but now, the men’s urinal has been out of service for months. There’s only one toilet for the men’s restroom to use for the whole gym. This is unacceptable. Changing my rating from 3 stars to 1. Been using this gym for 3+ years. Pros: - rarely gets packed - friendly staff - outdoor section - 24 hours Cons: - The employees sometimes heat up their food which smells bad and stinks up the whole gym. Do everyone a favor and leave your smelly food at home. - very limited machinery - old building - bathrooms almost always STINK
You get what you pay for is fitting for many gyms with the no $ down and 10$ a month...I must say I'm fortunate to have the finances to not fall in that category. This is more than just a membership, an experience that's priceless, offering an environment that's enticing with a vision that exemplifies my fitness goals. Management's geared towards providing a service of excellence, which is most definitely echoed by their super friendly and knowledgeable staff!!!!
This location of AF was...ok. Has everything you'd expect from a AF gym, however this location seems to be lacking regular maintenance on their equipment. Example...preacher curl bench seat STILL loose...minor stuff, overall good gym!
Do not sign a personal training contract without reading every line. Signed up for it, used one session where the trainer said I should start eating nutrigrain bars for a "healthy snack" then stopped. I am still being charged for the sessions at this gym even though I moved out of state. I've canceled my membership months ago but am still being billed for training services at this specific gym. They told me I need to buy out my contract, which is several hundred, and that they can't refund what they've already charged after i already canceled my membership. Bare in mind I've canceled my membership months ago, but they're still charging me for sessions even though I can't use them. Why cant i use them? Because. my. membership. has. been. canceled. for. months... good customer care guys
A decent but chintzy location for locals in Chatsworth for people just trying to maintain things like physical therapy regimens after completion. Some of the equipment is in the process of maintenance adjustment bar on leg press machine. Studio and weight areas are a little small but adequate. Can be quite pushy with the sales tactics but the gym trainers seem to be at least a bit knowledgable about exercises. I wouldn't trust them with my meal-planning, though. There's no reason you couldn't bring in an iPad and do your own regimen with various apps, like DDP's Yoga app or even various free YouTube videos from channels like MovementbyDavid, Hybrid Calisthenics or Yoga with Kassandra. Who would I recommend this for? Locals and people who are night owls. People who don't need a lot of amenities. People who understand and have their own protocols. Who would I not recommend this for? Gym noobies. Anytime members who are not local. People trying to exercise during peak hours. People seeking personal training and meal-planning services Built Strong is also local, provides those services, but at a higher expense for higher quality. Overall, a 2.7 stars from me.
This gym is terrible. My location is much more better but I decided to try this location out during my work break. It’s small and old. They only have one stair master machine that is so old the plastic on the steps are cracked feels like you will go right through it. Not one of the womens bathroom stalls had toilet paper. There is also a strong sewer smell. They open room has very small/old yoga mats. The machines were missing the pins so you can’t even add weight. It was terrible left within 10 minutes. This gym needs to be upgraded big time.
Horrible management. They are charging extra money from credit card, if you are visiting this place please check if they are doing the same with your credit card. And that’s not even the end. When I made a phone call to resolve the issue they hung up on me in the middle of the conversation. I have never been confronted with such a horrible service in my entire life and I’m not even exaggerating.
Worst gym ever! They did not only REFUSED to sign me up, they said that my "type" always cancels and just it's not worth their time. I have names, times and evidence of all this. I am currently dealing with the BBB
Rude management, they hang up the phone when u call and ask a some questions about the changes on the card,if there was a chance to Lou -1.000 start I’ll do it, I won’t recommend anybody to go there the worst gym in california
Very good gym, no lunk alarm, very low key. You can actually get on machines and not have to wait, not crowded, feels more like a home gym.
