Dr. Sangwan started her professional career at the Peninsula Hospital in Burlingame in 2002, after finishing her residency training at the University Hospital at SUNY, Stony Brook NY. Prior to that, she had earned her medical degree at the PGIMS (MDU) in Rohtak, India. She worked at the Peninsula hospital for more than four years during which she acted as the Director of the Hospitalist program, and was also a member of the Executive Committee of the Hospital.
In 2007 Dr. Sangwan returned to the Stony Brook area where she practiced for two years. She moved back to Bay Area, which she considers home in 2009, and practiced primary care medicine at Cisco's OnSite Clinic in San Jose. At Cisco she led the telemedicine program and her pioneering work has been featured in news programs & the PBS documentary, Digital Doctors.
Dr. Sangwan strives to develop a meaningful connection with her patients, to deliver high quality, personalized care. She believes in treating every person as a unique individual, and devotes the time and energy needed to build a trusting relationship.
