Description

Apple Barn Orchard and Winery features an open orchard and a farm where you can pick your own strawberries, apples, and pumpkins when they are in season. To clarify, during our strawberry picking season, we offer pick your own or pre-picked strawberries based on picking conditions. The strawberry season is a 3-week season about mid June to early July. There may be days when you might want to come and pick strawberries and we have been "picked out". As with any harvest season it is always BEST to call ahead to confirm picking conditions!

During apple season we ONLY offer pick your own apples on the weekends. You will want to check the Harvest schedule to check what is in season for picking apples during the fall! We usually start the pick your own apple season at the end of September which is our Annual Apple Fest Weekend! Due to customers taking advantage of picking, wasting of apples, filling strollers or purses, children or parents throwing apples at each other and many other numerous situations we have chosen to ONLY allow picking apples on the weekends This also means that we do not allow any walking through the orchard except for when you are going to purchase a bag to pick your own apples. We are sorry we have come to this decision. We kindly ask that you respect what we do to harvest our crop on our farm.

They grow and sell 12 popular varieties of apples such as Honey Crisp and Cortland. The Apple Barn also makes all of their own apple cider and fresh cider donuts.

The farm is situated on land that has been in the Jacobson family since 1848. The operation is owned by Steve and Judy Jacobson. The orchard consists of approximately 40 acres being planted since 1976.

The strawberry season begins in mid-June until mid-July.

The winery is a new addition that specializes in a variety of fruit wines. All of the wines are made in small batches to ensure richness and quality. The winery offers delicious fruit wines such as apple, blackberry, and mulberry. Colorful variations include pear, cranberry, blueberry and rhubarb. Red varieties, so perfect for the holidays and gift giving include cherry and strawberry. Each flavor is created with the savory taste of homegrown fruits. The winery also offers wine tasting at scheduled times. Select a bottle for yourself, or share one with friends and family.

Visit the Apple Barn Orchard and Winery to experience their masterful fresh fruit winemaking. The Jacobson homestead is located near the Delavan, Lauderdale and Geneva Lakes area. We went strawberry picking for our first time, and it was very straightforward and fun! All of the staff was very sweet and helpful~ We were told to follow the signs to the strawberry fields, and there would be a small building at the end where we could get our buckets and pay~ And also that we could even eat the strawberries while we were out picking them! I will note that me and my family's hands got a bit itchy during the picking, and there were a few spiders crawling around ...thats only if that bothers you.... Keep in mind that you will get sweaty as well. In the end, it was a really great hands-on experience with the family~~ and their fruits taste great!! P.S. if you decide to come back again, bring the bucket you used for your first time and you will get a discount
Great place for the kids to pick strawberries, apples, and pumpkins. The store is very nice with a variety of fruit wines and a variety of things
Wow this place is amazing. U pick apples are currently $25 for a peck, $50 for half bushel. There were 4 or 5 different varieties of apples to pick. In the orchard, there is also a free tractor ride the kids loved. Once you cross the street back to the actual farm, there was free wine tasting, or you could buy a glass for $7-$10. There were very fresh apple cider donuts, $6 for a half dozen. There is a store to shop in, all kinds of additional food truck vendors, free games for kids to play, an old fire truck to climb, and picnic tables to sit and eat. We easily spent the morning here, and are definitely coming back next year. The orchard was also really well staffed. They had someone letting people in and out of the store, people directing traffic, and multiple people at the wine station. Even though it was really busy, it didn't take long for anything.
Great experience. Lots of apple trees loaded with ripe apples. We opted to "buy 2 pecks, get 1 bag free", filled them with beautiful Cortland and Ida Red apples. Also tried 2 of the semi-sweet wines, honey crisp white and raspberry white, which were excellent! Sat at a picnic table and enjoyed some live music.
I love take my kids here to pick out the apples. I got 24 apple cider donuts, two gallons of Apple Cider juice, three different wines and many more! My kids and I spent about 3 1/2 hours there today. Definitely worth our Sunday trip!
Tried Apple Barn for the first time this June and best strawberries we’ve had in years. Warm strawberry donuts were great, too. Reasonable cost. Excellent safety precaution place during pandemic, including contactless pick up. Such nice people, too. Worth the drive. Highly recommended!
Great way to spend an hour or a day on the weekend. Has a relaxed country atmosphere; Live music, food vendors, apple picking, wine sampling, etc. The prices can be high on certain items, and some food vendors accept cash only, yet there's no means of acquiring cash within 5 miles. However, if it's within your budget and you come prepared, ABO&W is a very enjoyable slice of Wisconsin.
Apples. Pumpkins. Wine! What more could you ask for to celebrate fall?! I have been SUPER cautious to follow COVID precautions since I have a new baby at home. Apple Barn gave us a perfect day out while still feeling safe and comfortable! Loved the wine and the cider donuts are amazing!
Beautiful orchard, friendly staff and great apples to choose from. I love the wine selection and tasting they have to offer. Prices are a bit high for the apples but that includes the experience. Loved it all the way around
Every year we call ahead and reserve flats of strawberries to make jam. They make it so easy to do so and makes my life with 3 kids a bit less stressful... I can't wait until my kids are old enough so we can all go pick! Kind and friendly staff. Amazing cider donuts!
