We really liked the campground. Quick and easy check in and a great location. The lady that checked us in was extremely helpful as it was our first visit to Apple Creek Campground. Very easy to get set up, not packed in like sardines. Very friendly atmosphere with the other campers in our area. The biggest issue was how disgusting the bathrooms and showers were. They were not cleaned once from Saturday when we checked in until we left Monday morning. Only 1 shower worked in the men's restroom so that was interesting as well. Really liked the atmosphere but it would be vey difficult to go back because of the restroom and showers.
We were assigned a spot "on the hill" outside of the campground. There were no amenities in this area. To access the campground, we had to traverse a steep hill with loose gravel and warning signs and over a bridge that closes at sundown. This was okay, as we didn't need any of the amenities. We were in the 2nd site, which had huge ruts and was not level. The first site was far worse - another unit tried for 20 minutes to get level and gave up and left. Consequently, our site felt rather spacious with no unit next door. A lot of highway noise and farm manure smells manageable - unless you are picky. The sites up here that were level seemed VERY nice. I would recommend this campground except for sites 401 and 402, but for $54 a night - and no sewer hook-ups - they should have better maintained sites.
Thumbs Down! Was at this campground for 2 nights, the bathroom was not cleaned one time, a toilet overflowed and over flow was left on the floor all weekend, garbages were not changed, yet toilet paper was filled as empty rolls were in the trash. Campsites were packed tighter then a sardine can, one bathroom facility for the whole campsite.
We used 2 sites side by side they were just fine. The real detractors we're that the sites are right alongside Interstate 41. The noise of constant traffic made simple fireside conversation very difficult. There should be shower and bathroom facilities up on the hill as well. We didn't use the other amenities. Overall I would stay there again if we could try the lower campground down the hill.
We spent Sunday to Wednesday here with our grandkids. The location was nice and close to many things which is why we picked this campground. Overall I would say the place is 3 stars. One thing, which is really my lack of research on the exact location, is the noise. It’s right on a busy road in front of it and right off hey 41 so the traffic noise is significant. When we pulled in it had been raining for a couple of days and our sight was quite flooded. We requested a different site and were told they were all taken except 2. One of those sites was also flooded and one was very, very small. This would be understandable but none of the other spots near us that we had requested ever filled before we left so not sure why she wouldn’t help us out. The pool closed at 6:30 pm which was a huge disappointment to our grandkids. The pool is nice but there are no tables and chairs poolside at all. Nowhere to sit unless you bring your own chairs. There are picnic tables outside that pool area but nothing inside. The playground is old and really could use some updating. There is a nice game room but many of the games were out of order. Bathrooms were clean when we arrived but not kept up through the week and ultimately pretty dirty. Weeds in all the beds around the pool and no flowers… missing the TLC you see at so many campgrounds. The location is great so really depends what you want to do while you’re there. Sites are very small but overall the campground has what you need.
Went there for the first time. Was a little reluctant because of some of the reviews. Boy we’re they wrong. The place was vary clean and well kept. The staff was very helpful and polite. Had a great time and will definitely go there again. A little barn yard smell but it is Wisconsin.
We had a last minute reservation and the staff was accommodating when we arrived in getting us firewood and settled. Pool, fishing pond, playground, playroom and location to Green Bay and Door County was all a plus. We were close to the entrance and traffic was not an issues. Very peaceful and restful camping trip. Thank you so much!!! We will tell everyone about our trip and will be returning soon!
We're living here for a month or so while we close on a house and so far it's been pretty good. The park is awesome for kids, there's laundry on site if you'd like, there's WiFi and a little convenience store if you forgot anything which is pretty handy.
This was my first full weekend camping experience with my boys ages 4, 4 and 5 and they loved it. Apple Creek Campground was perfect for us! The site was in a great location, there was a fishing pond, play ground, tires to climb, a pool and much more. Playground: Lots of equipment and choices for kids of all ages. Also had lots of room for the kids to run and play. Restrooms: Clean. Dog-friendliness: Very dog friendly. Picnic area: Covered and near the pool amd playground.
Been going here since it was Happy Hollow! Grew up with some of the seasonals. Love to see the improvements. I recommend for everyone to experience atleast once, I personally enjoy meeting new people so I prefer weekends, weekdays are for the more seclusion types! Thank you Bob and Sue and Lucky
