Amazing hospitality! Beautiful, upscale place to stay near Guerneville and central to wineries, the coast, and quaint towns all around the area. The staff was top notch! Our room was beautiful, clean, and homey. An evening wine reception, hosted by the owner, allowed us to chat with other guests by the fire! And dinner at their restaurant is now one of our top favorites ever! I closed my eyes to savor the taste of each course--well worth the price!! We walked all around their property--extremely well-maintained and picturesque! The hotel buildings just make you want to stare at their architecture and beauty! We'll be back!
Beautiful place. Our room was in the Belden house. Extremely comfortable bed and linen. We really enjoyed our stay. Very attentive and welcoming staff. The breakfast was amazing those potatoes! We can't wait to return soon, as the Russian River Valley is a new favorite place to explore.Rooms: 5/5
We held our wedding at The Stavrand. We were fortunate to reserve the full property for the weekend and had our Friday night welcome dinner and Saturday ceremony and reception onsite. All our closest friends stayed with us on the property for the weekend, which was so much fun. Leading up to the wedding, Kayla and Emily were such a pleasure to work with - super responsive and collaborative, and we could see that they were truly invested in making this a perfect event for us. That hospitality extended across the full staff. Everyone that works at the Stavrand was so kind, attentive, and excited for us! The highlights of our wedding weekend have to be the breakfasts, the beautiful ceremony location, and the romantic reception setting in the Chef’s Meadow. My husband and I can’t wait to spend an anniversary at The Stavrand to relive our special day.
We were looking for a place for a quick getaway! The Stavrand has everything you will ever need for a quick recharge. It provides a charming, high-scale, clean, relaxing, quiet and close-to-nature feel all at once. The food is impeccable, and it's quite obvious the chefs think outside of the box to give you a refreshing new dining experience. Most of all, I can't say enough about the staff! They are friendly, engaging, informative, and are quite intuitive, in knowing exactly what you need. The grounds invite one to experience nature. This is all a reflection of who the owner is. This is place is her dream come true, and she more than wants it to be your dream as well! I thank her immensely for the experience.
The Stavrand exceeded our expectations at every turn. Celebrating our 20th anniversary, the weekend could not have been more special. Breakfast was first class, coffee was yummy, service was impeccable and backdrop of spectacular redwoods was breathtaking. The rooms were very comfortable and well furnished. High-class, 5-star experience. We will be back!!
For our wedding anniversary my husband surprised me with a night at the Stavrand. The staff was as amazing as the food!!. The bed was so comfortable & we had a special treat.. falling asleep to the sound of the little tree frogs off in the distance. I highly recommend staying at the Stavrand in Guerneville, CARooms: 5/5
This was an amazing experience. Everyone was incredible. The room was perfect and the in room fireplace was truly divine. Don't miss dinner in the restaurant with beautiful wine pairings or the games during the apéritif. I will always remember this trip.Rooms: 5/5
Tucked away in the redwoods is this absolute gem within striking distance of Sonoma. The Stavrand was the first leg of our California honeymoon, and on arriving late-evening, we were met with a handwritten note, chocolate, and champagne. The rest of our stay was full of personalized touches, from amazing breakfast included with the stay, evening wines, amazing decor, a charming chef's garden amidst well cared-for grounds, personal greeting from the owner, and even board games! The property has recently been updated, and it was so well-done. We'd return to the Stavrand in a heartbeat!! Local recs: a surprisingly tasty lunch at Korbel just around the corner, and don't miss the Kortum trail for a stunning walk along the coast and beaches.
Hotel is small, clan, designed in taste with a European vibe. The rooms were pleasant and the breakfast was surprisingly amazing. Defiantly will come here again.Rooms: 5/5
I'm between 3 and 4 stars here. On the upside, it's a very pretty place, our room was beautiful and having a balcony was a real plus. The premises are nice with firepits and outdoor games. Touches like coffee service in the morning and aperitif in the evening are very nice. The downside is that the hotel doesn't feel well equipped to live up to the hospitality you'd expect from a 4 star hotel and the price. For example, we were made to feel bad about asking for a piece of toast at breakfast because the kitchen was busy. I had tried to pre-book a massage, going back and forth with online concierge over the course of 2 days only to be told at the end that the room was too small for a massage table. On their own, one little thing like this doesn't matter but it does add up when hospitality falls short several times. A lot of the issues we saw seemed to have an easy fix: hire more staff to ensure hospitality can be a priority.
