Enjoy visiting this park as it is local. I wish there was more incentive for the city to maintain and potentially develop the park further. Even with the minimal upkeep, the natural beauty of the area is evident. The trails are grown up and the access steps are in disrepair which would limit accessibility to the River area. The playground area is used very often.
I like to go here to relax and listen to the water. I have heard someone say they had seen a snake, so be careful. I went yesterday and saw a snapping turtle in the water.
Extremely calming and peaceful! Beautiful walking paths, fishing, and picnic areas! Babbling brooks are relaxing!!!!!!! Dog-friendliness: Your pet will love this park! It's like puppy heaven! Picnic area: Clean and shaded
The bridge is closed to get to the walking trails beautiful views though one of my fave places to go locally and my dog loves it
Great site to hike the upper canal trail, fish the pond or there is the lower hiking path at the riverside. There is a small playground & bridge near the parking lot, for our small humans. Unfortunately there’s plenty of trash I collect a bag each time I go even though trash cans are provided at the parking areas. PLEASE LEAVE NO TRACE!! If you want to wade in the water I recommend wearing creek sneakers so you don’t get cut or a fish hook embedded. Happy Exploring!!
Small park but has a lot to do. Has picnic tables/pavilions, walking trails, river, fishing spots and a small playground. Great place to take a hike or take the kids to get some energy out.I didn't see any restrooms there but there could be some.
Pot-holed gravel parking lot with plenty of room. Muddy bank to launch your kayak right next to parking lot. The old canal goes a couple miles with very little current. There are some fallen trees, but they are passable. Almost the whole trip is in the shade since the trees grow over the canal. Very peaceful trip with jagged rock formations to keep it interesting.
Small park near the river. Gravel parking lot with some sort of an abandoned/locked building next to it. Nice trail down by the river past the pond/canal. The playground is small but clean. Not a destination spot, but some nice views if you happen to be nearby. No restrooms that we noticed, and I did not see any good launch points for kayaks, etc.. The locked structure I assume some sort of storage or nature center and the nearby dock both could use some extensive repairs.
Really nice place to visit. Had rain recently so the trail was muddy and water. Still worth it . Magnificent landscape. The view is breathing taking with the foliage.
My family enjoyed our Family time. We had a nice area to fly our kites. The water was beautiful and had nice flat surfaces to rest on.
