Aquarium Oddballs was established in May of 2003 by Scott Tracy and Jena Wolcott. We started breeding African Cichlids in our small 800 sq ft apartment. We had aquariums plugged into every available outlet. That was the beginning of our dreams becoming reality. Next we started to do aquarium and pond maintenance for our customers while we saved and planned to open store front in November of 2004.
Aquarium Oddballs is a family ran store and we absolutely love the aquarium hobby. We are blessed everyday by getting to come to work and do something we are so passionate about. We work hard to keep our animals in the healthiest conditions possible while they are waiting to become part of your aquarium family. Scott and I both enjoy helping and talking to people and we hope it shows in our ability to have the best customer service and support available.

Such a great store!!! Loved how there was PLENTY of tanks. Im not from the area so they let me look around and answered all my questions about the fish i didnt know much about. If youre a fish keeper you know its great to learn more.. an entire wall of cichlids!! And exotics. Very cool pet fish in there too! Definitely worth checking out.
Got a yellow tang from Scott today, a huge tang and she is doing well and healthy fish. Small store BUT he said changes are coming soon! Very nice guy and even gave me a food sample for my cichlids and they love it! Went to 4 other stores and turned down their tangs and came back to Scott because of knowledge and his drive to help and keep customers informed and happy! Drove 2 hours to get this fish, will be driving to 2 hours to go back for my needs.
I have been to this store 3 times. Each time the owner was friendly and seemed knowledgeable but his customer service is a joke. I asked him to order some fish for me each time. And each time he checked and told me that he could in fact get the fish I wanted. He took my name and number all three times, told me he would call me as soon as they came in, and I never heard from him. I was told that he is the best by several. Maybe he has better customer service for his friends or regulars. I won't ever visit his store again and I pass the word along to anyone that asks.
I couldn’t ask for more knowledge or a better selection. I purchased cichlids for the first time I’ve had about every other kind of fish and Scott guided me through the selection of fish along with answering all questions I had and gave me excellent advice. This is hands down the best place to get fish in northeastern Oklahoma. It’s well worth the trip and I’ll definitely be returning.
Scott is an amazing man that has helped us move our tank 3 times and saved our fish from ick. We will not go anywhere else thank you for everything.Scott you are by far the best to talk to about anything we need or want. You always have a wide variety of fish/coral. we always find something new and have had the best luck ever since we became customers! Thank you so much for all the laughter and top notch service! By far the best aquarium fish store in Oklahoma !!
Stopped in looking for some freshwater fish. Asked the owner a question and was told to "hold on". He then went and started to feed the fish. Good to see that the fish come before the customer, but without us there is no store. I was shocked with the prices. I politely thanked him and started to leave. He cared enough to ask what was wrong. I was honest and expressed my concern about the fish prices. He responded that the prices on the tanks needed to be updated, and to let him know what I was interested in. When I told him what I was looking at, he quoted the same price on the tank. We left, went to another store, and purchased 11 healthier looking fish of the exact breed from his store for literally 1/3 of the price. Store was dirty, but that is par for the course for a local fish store.
This shop is where its at! Scott is very knowledgeable and in my opinion a expert in his field. If you have any questions he has you covered! If he dosnt know the answer, which is rare, he will research the answer and let you know. If you need a specific type of fish he will order it. I will only shop for fish here. Scott works hard to keep his fish healthy and happy. Notice all the 5 star reviews. The majority would agree with me and this review. Keep it up Scott i see another 30 years in the buisness.
I have been going to Scott's for the past several months and he always takes great care of me. His knowledge and advice is out of this world. His store truly has the best freshwater and saltwater selection around.
The 3-star rating because of his lack of follow up with me on a quote on two tanks cost him a $2K+ sale, the misinformation he provided on the price of Yellow Tangs and his poor handling of employees. See below. People seem to love this place, but my experience was less than enjoyable. The tanks we're clean and there was lots of live stock; however, the person I spoke to promised me a quote on two tanks within a week, but never followed up. It has been almost a month and I haven't heard from him. I've moved on and decided to order from another local shop. Frustatingly, he repeatedly interrupted our conversation about the specs of the tanks I want in order to bark at an employee about helping customers. When the employee said he talked to the couple in question, he questioned him in in a very condescending way right in front of me and others. There were a couple of more negative interactions with employees that I won't go into. He was clearly having a bad day and let it affect his customer service making customers like me uncomfortable. Finally, He was less than honest with me. I asked why Yellow Tangs were so so expensive. He told me it was because the government halted collection in Hawaii and that they were $90 or above everywhere in Tulsa and he is the cheapest in town. Moreover, he said they were going for as much as $160 in Las Vegas where I recently relocated from. I believed him at the time. However, when I looked into it I found it was not true. While the Hawaiian collection cessation is true Happens all the time. I found Yellow Tangs in other small Tulsa area shops for a reasonable $40-50 dollars. They are $30 in my old go-to shop in Vegas cheaper because proximity to the coast, not $160. I was very disappointed. In the end it is a nice shop for live stock, but limited on dry goods. Hopefully mine was an isolated incident.
Absolutely the best aquarium provider in Tulsa!!!! I inherited a saltwater nano tank 15 gallons at the beginning of January 2018. I have never had a saltwater tank before and had to very quickly learn what to do. Scott at Aquarium Oddballs has been nothing but friendly, helpful and educating. He has always answered any questions I might have, no matter how trivial. I have managed to turn this tank into a stable, beautiful aquarium. Aquarium Oddballs May appear a little run down, but don't let the appearance fool you. Salt and water will rust metal... Scott puts his time and money into the stocking and caring of quality fish rather than on store appearance. Scott has an amazing selection of both fresh and saltwater fish, corals, cleaning invertebrates and more. I purchased another large live rock to bring my poundage to the appropriate amount. I had just finished cycling my tank and it had been stable for 3 weeks. I was very anxious that the new piece would cause another cycle. I added the piece as soon as I got home, no issues. Absolutely no change in my nitrate, it has been over a month, still zero. I have purchased a large variety of corals from Scott. You WILL NOT find better prices on coral than at Aquarium Oddballs period! I have shopped the other surrounding aquarium providers and have found their selection to not even compare to the variety Scott provides. His prices are AMAZING too!!! You will pay 2-3 times more for the same piece at any of the other providers. I have never had any issues of disease or parasitic contamination either. If you are a fellow aquarist looking for supplies or stock for your tank, you MUST try out Aquarium Oddballs!
