Nurturing the Spirit of the Child
ArborCreek Montessori School operates as a private school throughout the year serving families with children ages six months through Third Grade. Our School is warm, peaceful, and inviting. We are committed to providing outstanding academic programs by nurturing the social, emotional, and cognitive development of our Students.
Through high-quality, excellent instruction, our School provides a supportive community which fosters an atmosphere that creates a joy for learning. Our Students are engaged with their work, rather than passive. Our Teachers work closely with parents and children to encourage the growth of the whole person.
Our mission is to educate the human potential. We utilize multiage groupings which allow teachers to develop long lasting relationships and to understand each child's different learning style. It also allows older students to become role-models which helps them to develop leadership skills. They are mentors to younger students who aspire to be like them. The curriculum materials are specially designed for a multi-sensory learning experience. They are self-correcting which need minimal teacher intervention. This develops a child's self-esteem.
Traditionally, schools pay little attention to children as individuals, other than to demand that they adapt to our standards. Dr. Montessori argued that the educator's job is to serve the child; determining what each one needs to make the greatest progress. To her, a child who fails in school should not be blamed, any more than a doctor should blame a patient who does not get well fast enough. After all, it is the job of the physician to help us find the way to cure ourselves, and the educators job to facilitate the natural process of learning.
