Arc Agency Inc

Arc Agency has shockingly poor customer service skills. We rented a house from them for a little less than a year. They're fine to deal with until you have a problem. We had our gas cut off because they never had us open an account with the gas company. It took them over a week to contact the gas company to have it turned back on. No offer to compensate us for our trouble and inability to even use our gas stove during that time. After we moved out, it took months to get our security deposit back. They even had to call us to ask us questions about the house for the new tenants because they knew so little about the property. Fast forward a year and a half after we moved out, and we repeatedly received late notices saying we didn't pay our gas bill for the property dates were after we moved out because Arc never switched the account over to the new tenants name. That can be an understandable mistake... What is not understandable is not addressing the problem with the gas company for over a MONTH even after we called and emailed them multiple times. There is never anyone in the office and the answering service they have is useless. I have no idea why anyone would trust Arc with their property to rent when there are so many more trustworthy rental companies. If you rent from them, just be aware that when and if a real problem comes about, it will not be solved in a timely manner.

I have been renting from them since 2019 and I have had nothing but trouble trying to get them to come out and fix things. They never answer the phone. You have to show up at the property to get anything done. Now I have another problem and the phone is out of service so I call one of the employee who gave me there personal contact and was told she no longer work for Arc Agency and that they had closed and another property management company was managing the properties. I have know ideal who I am paying for rent...lol This company is the worst.

For 12 years I’ve lived in an apartment building managed by ARC Agency. Throughout the whole time the people at ARC Agency have been friendly, responsible and thorough in their attention to tenants and to the building. At least once a year they and the owners of the building do a complete inspection of the property, listing anything that needs attention. And they have always followed through with repairs or enhancements of the building and grounds. Everyone at ARC Agency is professional, efficient and friendly. It’s been a pleasure to live in an apartment that is managed and maintained by such nice people.

The review is geared to Mary at ARC Agency, they have had some personnel changes and lost alot of personnel. She has been the only one trying to keep everything together for the entire place and all the customers. She has went above and beyond for us and stayed on top of our requests and our small issues we needed addressed. She works night and day, which I beleive she works three jobs including this one. Hats off to you Mary for all of your OUTSTANDING HELP!

I had a wonderful experience with Arc Agency. Alysia was prompt for my showing, and very helpful getting me in my apartment. I never had any problems and would rent from them again in a heartbeat. If you are looking for a good company to rent from Arc Agency is one of the best in Asheville!

If I could give a minus to this group I would... They are not honest! Giving someone over a week to take a place when they told me within 24 hours if they had not signed the agreement, it would go to me... So now a week later, still have heard nothing, except a responds to my text, who is this? Unbelievable... They never returned any calls would say, let me call you back after I check and nothing... Then the best, 3 days into all of this, I called once more and Jan answered and stated after she had spoke with me about 12 times and never followed up as she said she would that, ready..... she had nothing to do with the agreement, knew nothing about it and did not recall our emails, phone calls anything... she said someone else in office was handling things. I dont have words, honesty how to they remian open and if I was a home owner I would pull my property beacuse they do not have the best intentions for your property at all! I have a mind to look at all there properties, pull the tax records and contact all owners to tell them exactly what type of so called professionals they are working with, just horrible. I am still in shock at what took place!!!!

Everything expressed below is of course, my opinion. Listen up kids who don't give a damn about other people's well being or property, if you want to rent a house where you can get away with anything and not be bothered by your landlord property manager, look for an ARC agency sign. They don't care, and they don't respond to complaints by neighbors. Neglect is the best term I can think of to describe the ARC agency. I'm a neighbor of a house owned by Bob Chapman, the absentee California landlord who uses the ARC agency to "manage" his house and the only person to give the ARC agency a good review on google to date. Over the past decade, the ARC agency's miss-management of the house boils down to what I consider a public nuisance. Trash left in the yard, all night drunken parties in the middle of the week, tenants blocking the shared driveway and street on nearly a weekly basis at times, and no response to weekly calls to the agency alerting them to the problems. The house now has broken pickets on the front porch railings and broken windows covered up with plywood, with tenants still living there. It's also a great agency for absentee property owners who don't really want to know about how their house is being handled, because they likely won't bother to tell you about the damage to the property or your reputation. If ignorance is bliss for you and you're just wanting to hold on to a piece of land long enough to flip it and cash out, the ARC agency is for you!
