In recent days, from 12:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. every day, several modified sports cars will pass by the intersection of Live Oak Ave and Bradford Ave. The noise is very loud, which seriously affects the normal rest of the residents of the block. Hope to get the attention of the police department in the jurisdiction.
I have lived in Arcadia since birth and have had very few good interactions with this police department, and its relationship with the community is progressively worsening. After moving back to the city after university, I have had horrible experiences with officers and the dispatch department. They are extremely dismissive of citizen's concerns and seem only interested in self-glory rather than maintaining our once-high quality of life. Officers will give you their unfounded, often convoluted OPINIONS on matters you call them for and act as though it is law due to the badge they wear while doing nothing to address your concerns. This police department has zero policies to resolve issues of officers who are overly aggressive and needlessly belligerent toward citizens, leaving us taxpayers and property owners no course of redress as citizens who more than once have voted to increase funding to this municipal agency. It is my firm belief that this department should be drastically reduced in size given the high rise in property crime and theft in the city, and that city funds be reallocated to help citizens combat this growing threat to our tranquil lives sans-police. I would love to see this department fully disbanded in my lifetime, and see the city focus more on maintaining parks and re-purchasing valuable lands at the heart of our city so that it may be preserved and protected for generations to come. Arcadia police department is an overly-zealous, overly-aggressive, overly-funded, overly-militant agency that's has NO place in the quiet foothill city of Arcadia, California.
Review in progress... Chief of Police Robert T. Guthrie who believes great policing may be attributed to a familial connection developed with the community via Police, Volunteer Services Division and the residents at large. City of Arcadia like Brea encourages involvement in "See Something - Say Something," call PD direct. Ring subsidy offered just got a few for video cameras to insure the safety of its community. Since April of 2011 Chief Guthrie has a career dedicated to serving the community. I look forward to learning more about this department and its Chief when in the area.
Police here is corrupt as hell. I tried to put a welfare report on my mom and I am on bad terms with her. But my mom has a restraining order against my father, and he has been using my name to fill out forms and trying to find out where she is. My father is also doing a lot of ID fraud but the police won't do anything cause they said there is no lost of money. They said just because someone is issued a restraining order doesn't mean she is in any danger. They said she is extremely happy but we will not do a welfare check. But said there is no need and to leave cause they do not believe they need to do one. I talked to my friend in the DA and the police department in Temple city the same story and they said the police in Arcadia are scumbags who didn't want to help. And to ask for a missing persons report. I later called and they said they never tried to look for my mom. But then a cadet said I cannot talk to the current watch commander and that there was no need and they already did find my mom. But they don't know who or which officer spoke with my mom etc. But the last watch commander also said it didn't happen. But the cadet said they got back to me which he didn't and told me they already helped me and I needed to leave and since my mom was safe there was no need for a welfare check or a missing person's report. Then Nakumura comes out and said why don't you trust our cadet it only makes you look bad. I told him if your cadet stop making up lies and go by one story I would believe you guys. Nakumura claims he is not passing the situation around. I have seen my father do several hit and runs. If anyone and some kids got hit by a silver sienna van should report it. Kurt Chen hit them! It was at first and Huntington Dr. The police refused to take my report quite a few number of times. Kurt Chen's car has over 500 accidents. Nakumura said that doesn't mean he doesn't know how to drive. Nakumura again said by talking to my friend about getting incident reports and trying to have a "police report to report to the DA" is not the right way. My doctor saved my life when my father tried to suffocate me in the car while I was too injured to move due to spinal cord injury. My dad on a hot summer day 138 at Dr. Fortanasce's parking lot, locked the cars and rolled up the windows. My Dr. yelled at him and fought him for the keys and got me out minutes later. After helping me get feeling back into my body , we called the cops, but my father left. They did not do a police report. They said call back the next time it happens. When it happened again they again did nothing. Nakumura said talking to friends that are cops and DA assistant is not an attorney. He said only attorney's know the law. And that nothing I did made any sense. Also since I was young I have been helping with the police department and traffic department. I worked with traffic department to help put out cross walks around Arcadia and fix sidewalks and report city problems. Many of which these police officers used for entrapments. They purposely gave out tickets to people knowing that many of the elderly and people were getting rides and to meet at the cross walk. You know its bad when the city asks the police to stop doing fake entrapments. So they got rid of the cross walk and now have to put up a signal light on a number of places. It is so sad that the cops in Arcadia have turned into thugs, pimps, and gangsters, and drug addicts.
This is a Police department that epitomizes what most folks do not like about Police in general. I have had several opportunities to rate the "people skills" of the Arcadia PD, and my opinion is that they are an uncaring bunch that only care about quotas and Dollar signs. I thank goodness I live in the area covered by the Temple City Sheriffs department! If I were you, I would do my level best to stay out of the city of Arcadia proper, the Police Department is looking to fill the coffers of the bankrupt state of California single-handed, and I've been lied to by several officers, so also don't take their word for ANYTHING!
the Arcadia Police have a violent demeanor and are not qualified for policing. Fifteen years ago, they held my best friend at gunpoint because he had a display sword in his room and refused to surrender it. Today, in 2018, they are the direct cause of the inexorable waves of violent crimes that hit Colorado Blvd and North Arcadia even though they are located minutes away from where the crimes occur. they are reactive, not proactive and they can't catch a single crime and cause more problems than they solve because they are incompetent and among the stupidest a police force can recruit, even though there are many honorable members that serve or have served among them.
I am writing this letter to make a complaint. I went to Mercedes Benz of Arcadia for regular service last week, I came over this afternoon to checked my car if they still working for my car in their company garage ,and I noticed my diamond watch and jewelries inside of my car all are gone ,I asked service supervisor- Mike Marsh that where is my diamond watch and Jewelries ? He answered that i don’t care and it’s not my business , and I called Arcadia policeman ,and after policeman came ,Mike Marsh not only disregarded my request, he even went so far as to threaten me by telling the police that i was stealing the car that they lend me, and threatened to arrest me so many times , And policeman don’t want to listen to me at all and don’t want help me to write a report ,but also he is only listen to Service manager -Mike Marsh and trying arrest me to jail ,I felt so disappointed ,helpless and hopeless for Arcadia policeman ! ! ! my car has been serviced in this store for a long time, ever since I bought it from the same store. Now my car is still in tour service center, and they still would not fix the problem which is their caused ,and Mike Marsh told me today he will threw away my car tomorrow from their company garage , I am so disappointed for the poor service ,rude man and bad management of Mercedes Benz, Arcadia ! ! !
My BLACK husband has been pulled over unnecessarily by the Arcadia police department several times that I am aware of, within a few months. Definitely a profiling department. And by the way NO TICKET HAS EVER BEEN ISSUED. Once it was no signaling to change lanes laughable, another was not stopping prior to turning...on and on. Driving while black is real. Be careful out there especially in Arcadia my brothas. Just an update that my executive husband got pulled over again for nothing. Is your requirement to pull over no matter what if someone is a black male? keep it up next time we will sue your ignorant department.
This is really stupid thing ever in my life. Just got a parking ticket parking in a red curb like a feet touching the red curb. I had my army training in the morning at 5 am and couldnt care enuf about the red curb, well how could i really care the red curb, it was so dark and so darn cold in the morning that i had no focus on it but my army training. At 7 am when i got out i saw this bald police officer putting a ticket on top of my windshield. The heck for real i touched it like a feet away and i am so sure no one was bothered i parked there since the red line is a really long line. Even my sergeant told me, "Such a bullshit". This is the reason i never want to be a police... Dirty jobs. Well give it up away only 53 bucks. I bet that police officer was in need of money. Poor little thing. If u ever read my comment, sir, good luck on your life... Hopefully ur sons know how dirty ur job is.
