Views are insanely gorgeous, seen a crane in the river, just relaxing, i though my it was fake. Pretty small casino but staff was very helpful and polite. Everything was very laid back not loud or over packed. Recommended for sure!
I had to see a riverboat casino when I visited Illinois/Missouri and Argosy was a great example. See it lit at night is way better than daytime.
It's basically 99% slot machines now and not nearly as entertaining as is use to be when the boat actually cruised the river. I can't recommend this business in good conscience anymore. It's basically just a money grab and everything good they had they've discontinued from the table games to the all you can eat crab leg buffet. What would make this place a destination again is making the boat a river cruise again, bring back the table games, the slots are in every bar in Illinois now, and bring the snowcrab buffet back. That, and get a bartender who knows to stir an old fashioned and not shake it in the shaker like a heathen.
The service is fast and friendly. Your not in Vegas but it gets the job done. Go Gators
Very small can't smoke and kinda trashy. Now the ladies working the cage rock. Very nice and friendly. Only reason why I give a 3 star and not a 1.
I sat out side in the car , and fed the seagulls . My mom went in to get the fifteen dollars on a quick trip card . Watching and feeding the birds was a delightful sight to see , they swormed the car while I fed them , I loved it .
This place has gone down hill for awhile now and is not a very fun experience, the only plus to Argosy now is the sports book, everything else is low quality. Everything from their table games to staff and the food, only reason to come other then sports betting is its not a slot haven so if your over 65 and need something to do then you still might want to stay away
I visited Argosy Casino in Alton, Illinois for the first time for dinner at the buffet. I'm not a gambler, but we did walk around the gaming floor and played a few games. The dinner buffet was ok. There wasn't a huge selection like at other casinos, but it wasn't too bad. I was full. Walking around the gaming floor wasn't too bad either. We did play a few games. There wasn't a line for us to get the playing card and it was an easy process. I will say that I've visited other casinos in the area and this one was the smallest I've ever been too. We drove from St. Louis where the casinos are bigger, have more clubs/restaurants and much bigger buffets. The Argosy Casino is quaint and was great for us to experience being that it was my first time. We did go on an evening during the week and their still wasn't too many people there which was nice for us as we didn't have to fight through crowds. If you're looking for a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city, this was a great spot. The drive in from St. Louis was amazing scenery as well from seeing the sunset over the rivers to the cute town of Alton.
I Should not have stopped by, but I did the Casino was rather empty didn't order any food last time I ordered the food wasn't cooked through. Got A slot machine didn't win didn't expect to win left half a hour later. Maybe someone else may go there and experience something different but I have never left there feeling I had a good time
Got rid of a large amount of game on the floor, Buffalo Link Gone, All Aboard Gone, Empty the Vault Gone, wild wild panda gone, Fa nan Fa Fu Gone, Tarzan Gone, they got rid of all the good exciting games and kept the tight slots in to put table games in, put table games upstairs or more slots upthere how very boring and upsetting I drove pretty far...
