Not only do I love this hospital. But my baby had to stay in the NICU for a little while. The team of doctors, nurses and all other staff are absolutely hands down some of the best I have ever ran across.... The professionalism shown by each and everyone of the staff was amazing. The kindness and understanding expressed made me feel heard and taken seriously about my newborns care. So thank you to this team of angels . #Daniel Crawford #BED NUMBER 92
Took my sons in for a cleft surgery, surgery was great but the staff lied to us on 2 occasions so far and I haven’t even left the hospital yet. The first was that we had gotten a text that the surgery just finished and my first son was still asleep but right before the text a nurse had come in saying they just seen “Baby A” Referred to them as A and B because they are twins and she mentioned that they had been out of surgery for a while. The second lie was that they gave us the biggest room in the hospital so we should be happy and we later found out from a night shift nurse that this is one of the small rooms and that they “should have given us a big room” keep in mind that we have 2 babies in the room with 2 baby beds as well as a couch and not 1 not 2 but 3 chairs after I had asked for them to be removed from the room to no avail my simple question was too hard of a task it seems. We have barley any room to walk and can barley get around to care for my children. I have never been so disgusted with a hospital in my life. Also to mention I would stay away from any food or drink that is not packaged because within the first hour of arrival I had killed a baby cockroach and if there is babies there are more. Please hire staff that WANT to help people not just want to get paid. The passion in it really makes a difference.
My nine month old son recently contracted a viral upper respiratory infection and we were referred to Arkansas Children’s Hospital. My son was given first class care, and I first class support during our five day stay. In the ER we met a wonderful woman named Kim who went WAY above and beyond the call of duty. When I found myself in need of a set of nail clippers, a lesson in irony was waiting. Due to the greater wisdom of bureaucracy, nurses at ACH are forbidden from clipping finger or toenails. Therefore, no clippers were available. Ms Kim was kind and generous enough to go to the store, after her graveyard shift ended purchase a set of nail clippers, return to her place of employment, and deliver them to me! It was no small gesture, and greatly appreciated. Once my son and I were moved to the third floor where we would remain throughout the rest of our stay, the level of care and consideration was mind blowing. I mean it’s a hospital and not a luxury spa, but not once did a staff member enter our room and leave before asking if my son or I needed anything. The doctors were forthcoming and articulate in answering our questions. The opinions of my wife and I were considered as part of the equation that would form my sons plan for treatment. This was new to us and gave us a sense of control over the care our son was to receive. The nurses, techs, and respiratory therapists would work in the dark, or delay tasks to avoid waking my son when he was able to sleep. Baylee and Glenn were two of the nurses who were extremely thoughtful, considerate, creatively resourceful, kind, and generous in their care. They found and brought in toys and treats and entertaining distractions for our wee one. During the five days at ACH there were countless staff members from all departments that found a way to make our time there better. Late one night while out searching for snacks a lady paid my tab when we both realized that my cash was useless at the automated teller. One morning a member of the med flight crew paid for my breakfast after I left my wallet in our room. On day two of our stay, while waiting for an elevator, I met Ms Fatima from the family services department. She was an absolute delight to converse with, and would announce to those around any time she saw me thereafter, “There’s my elevator buddy.” Ms Fatima was very knowledgeable and eager to assist me with directions to different locations within the hospital. She made me feel like an extended family member. We send our deepest gratitude to all those who assisted and supported our son’s time at ACH. He’s recovering nicely and happy to be home with his family.
Thank you children's hospital for saving my boy and taking such good care of us we will never forget everything y'all did for us!!!! This is the only hospital to take your kids to no one else will care for them the way this hospital will!!!
What can I not say positively about this hospital! They treated my grandsons wonderfully for 22 years total. I never had a problem with them whether we used the clinics or were hospitalized. They always got to the bottom of their problems although some were a long process.
My son was complaining about Tinnitus. So, scheduled an Audiology exam and an ENT visit. Audiology test was broken down into three separate billing codes and another Office Visit Code for the Clinic visit. That was $313 and some change. Exam was totally normal. Then, they billed for a New Patient Moderate Complexity ENT Office Visit. That was another $242. We saw the ENT Doctor for 5 min tops. He looked in my son's ears and basically told us there's nothing he can do about tinnitus. There was absolutely NOTHING even moderately complex about my son's History, Physical Exam, or the Medical Decision Making for his visit. We should've left after the Audiology Exam was totally normal. Total billed to my Insurance was $555.72. This is preposterous to say the least. This kind of "coding and billing" is what drives the cost of medical care and health insurance up, up, up. This appears to me to be a case of UPCODING for billing to my insurance. I wonder what sort of Quality Assurance and/or Coding review is done at this place? Very little it appears in our case. Would not recommend. First and LAST time to go here!!!
I have been to children’s several times. My oldest daughter was there to get her tonsils removed and once to get a diagnosis of Tourette’s Syndrome I absolutely loved her doctor!!! Amazing BUT! We recently went for my middle daughter and she was at the ENT clinic and they needed to swap her throat and she has done it so much she hates it! But the nurse was AWFUL TO MY DAUGHTER! Saying “she would pry her mouth open with the tongue dispenser and force her to take it” and grabbed her checks until they were RED! I have never had this experience before! That nurse should be fried! I hope when we have surgery she has a better experience!
Best ER experience we have ever had. The service was extremely fast and the staff went above and beyond today. They all made sure my son was informed, safe and comfortable. I couldn't of left happier. Thank you so much!!
Waiting room is horrible. I understand the flow of an ER as in priorities are seen first but this is horrible. The wait times are pitiful and the waiting rooms are gross. Talk about hospital acquired infections. If the rest of the hospital is like the waiting rooms with cleaning, then I can see why those occur more often in hospitals. I’m not impressed and I hope I never have to come back. They get 1 star because the staff was pleasant.
Made a single mother of 2 little ones having car trouble when leaving their facility wait outside in the heat for her family to show up told her she couldn't wait inside!!! Absolutely apolling if you ask me to make them wait in the hot temperatures because why?.... Somebody should report them to higher ups!!
