Reviews
IF YOU NEVER LISTEN TO A REVIEW PLEASE take this one into consideration! This apartment complex is horrible on so many levels. The apartment complex went from Arlington Park to Astoria and no one new until pulling into the complex one day and saw the name changed. Next, we moved here due to the gated community but the gate was broken the entire lease which was 5 years and kept being lied to about it being repaired. They come up with erroneous fees constantly and try to talk to you as if you’re incompetent. Please keep up with your payment receipts because they will lie and say you didn’t pay your rent. Tasha that was there was amazing! Since she left, the new management Terri is condescending, rude and lie. They never fix anything or it takes months to have someone fix whatever is broken. We had to go an entire year with no smoke detectors after calling the office multiple times! They painted the outside of the complex’s to attract potential residents, but will not take care of the breezeways which are filthy from the trash bags that are picked up bursting on the walls. If you and for corporate number, Terri will lie and say she doesn’t have the number of she’ll give you a number where no one answers. When you move out she will come up with so many erroneous fees that are no where on the lease. Notice was put in in a timely manner per the lease and still had to pay an extra month for no reason. Also, if you do move there, please get a ring camera because she will say notices were left on your door. Luckily I had one and each time she lied about noticed being put on my door. I literally can go on and on, but please take head the previous reviews because I really wish I did. Management is complete trash!
I lived here for 3 years, and just recently moved out. The apartment itself I absolutely adored. I was on the 2nd floor and had a great view of the complex. If I could take this apartment with me on the go I would. As for management, I feel like my experience here could have been a lot better if management was more competent. Any time i had an issue, someone from management always made me feel like I was a burden. From the beginning 2020 I had issues getting my mailbox key and my W/D. Maybe after 2-3 weeks of living there I finally got my mailbox key. From that point on I tried not to run into issues mainly to avoid the people in the office. I lived there for 3 years so I saw MANY maintenance people come and go. But there was ONE maintenance person that was ALWAYS so attentive. I don’t believe he is there anymore. Shoutout to Myron bc he always made sure I was good with anything I needed help with. Management got slightly better after 2022ish. I chose to move out earlier than my set move out date. I informed management of that. I even stopped by the office and physically handed someone my keys. But then I received a call 2 weeks later asking why I never turned them in. Not sure who I spoke to, but I reassured her I handed the keys to the woman at the desk. when I told her this she sounded frustrated like it was my problem. Apartments are aesthetically pleasing. Love the high ceilings, the patio, the windows. But management could use some improvement and better attitudes. No one wants to feel like a burden, especially in a place that you’re supposed to call home.
I have made numerous requests for 3 months to have my dishwasher repaired. I don’t understand why they can’t get it fixed or even care to get it fixed I rented an apartment that came with a dishwasher not a BROKE dishwasher. Would be nice if they actually cared about their tenants but they don’t
There is no response to maintenance requests. We have been without a working washing machine and microwave for several months. My mother is elderly and has dementia. Her clothes and bedding must be washed daily. No washing machine and microwave is hard. We have submitted the requests through the portal several times and have spoken directly to the manager. She never responds. We requested switching our second floor apartment to the first floor because I sustained a severe injury to my spinal cord and cannot walk. I provided a letter from my doctor that stated it was too dangerous for me to continue living on the second floor, and told the manager that the fire marshal came by and said it was also illegal for me to continue living on a second floor. I have to call the fire department for a lift assist to get upstairs and downstairs for doctor's appointments, rehab, medical tests, etc. The manager said, in order to switch to a first floor apartment, it would cost an extra $500 - $600 monthly. We have lived here for several years and this is the worst it has ever been.
Way to expensive. This will be my last year in these apartments. Price keeps going up to where I could literally have a house for cheaper , and because the office staff are to lazy to take payments in the office you now have to pay rent online. They will look for anyway they can to get money out of you. $25.00 for trash pick up? I’ll take my on dam trash out for free, unfortunately they want let you.
Its been wonderful living at Astoria apartments!! They have made so many upgrades making the property look even more amazing than it already was and it’s so nice living somewhere that the neighbors are friendly and the complex stays clean. There’s such an great office staff that stays on top of everything making this a great environment to live in.
I absolutely would not recommend anyone to move here. Highly disappointed in everything about the place. Only been here for 10 days and everyday I’ve found something new wrong with this apartment. The door has too much wiggle room with no secure latch. I have a broken window pane. The ceiling fan when on wobbles uncontrollably. In my “what’s suppose to be renovated” kitchen the floor is coming up, one side of the sink doesn’t drain, garbage disposal doesn’t work, ice maker doesn’t work, when the water is on its constantly knocking through the walls and floors. Under the sink smells terribly bad. There are several dents in the kitchen. Moving on to the bathroom, the tub was not clean, the vents are not on , in each drawer the previous tenant hair was left in, the sink is rusted, under the sink the paint is bubbling up because when the water is running the sink leaks. Which also results to a foul smell. The closet in the bathroom also stinks. The laundry room also stinks. The bedroom isn’t too bad it just has petty problems. Like the plugs don’t work, a few dents, and the blind thingy is loose. The reviews on here are very accurate. Before moving in I tried to ignore them thinking that it would be different, but it’s not. I had so many red flags and ignored them all. I had one key at move in, communication was terrible, the unit was not MOVE IN READY and still isn’t. This place needs work. The plumbing in this unit is bad. I have photos and videos of everything. I do not want to spend an entire year here. For the price of these apartments it is not worth it. They are not luxury only the office. I’m only giving it one star so that I can post my review.
The best apartment complex I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. I’ve been a resident for almost a year and in that time frame the staff, the neighborhood, the upkeep… literally everything has been better than I could have imagined!! I truly can not wait to come home each day because of the peace and tranquillity. The office staff makes living here even sweeter they are timely, professional, understanding, and truly a blessing each person I have come in contact with has been heaven sent. Keep up the superb work Astoria Complex and staff!
The worst place to live in mobile al. I’d rather live under a bridge. Don’t let the pics fool you the place is a mess and the management is lazy. Pretty much a money scam.
Management is terrible, I’ve had broken appliances since March 2020. Literally since the start of COVID. Listen, Tasha is wonderful, she does her job very well. Kim is HORRIBLE! She has no people skills. The property manager is so petty. He keeps saying that the gate is broken because people run into it at 25 mph, which is untrue and then will block the open gate if he sees you not buzz in. He has better things to worry about, like getting to Maintenance request, or having the property cleaned. Here are the silver linings, the actual units, if you are in a nice one, are beautiful! It’s pretty quiet, although the walls are kinda thin. I haven’t had any sort of crime. The power never goes off for a long time, even in a storm. They have washer and dryer in unit, for no extra price, and they have valley trash. All in all, I like living here, but Kim and the property manger need to get it together.
