Richard Simpson Park stands as a monument to the longtime relationship of power and water at Lake Arlington. In 1907, Lake Arlington was called Lake Erie.
As Lake Officer for 13 years, Mr. Simpson was known for his tireless work around Lake Arlington and the “rare” ability to be a friend to anyone in need. As a recipient of three lifesaving awards, he was considered a true asset to the police department and the city.
