programs and sports leagues.
Running along the edge of Green Oaks Boulevard just east of Collins Street, River Legacy Parks – East often gets lost in the shadow created by River Legacy Park, its much bigger brother to the west. However, at 54 acres complete with its own half-mile hike and bike trail, a picnic area complete with grills, two playgrounds and sand volleyball courts, River Legacy Parks – East is a fully functional park that serves the community well. Stay a while and you may see campers from local Head Start programs or various sports teams that use the practice fields throughout the year. And if you want to take your recreation pursuits inside, the park is located adjacent to the Elzie Odom Recreation Center, which features three multi-purpose rooms, two gymnasiums, a fitness room, rock climbing wall, and a sports arena.
