This place is amazing. Giving veterans an opportunity to be emerged in expressive healing art. Offering many mediums of art and always very kind and professional. They also hold very special art showings and events.
Enjoyed the Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel The Exhibition. It was a little crowded at first as I felt there were a lot of older attendees who couldn’t figure out the sounds and that the art work were not in order. Once they got the hang of it we were able to enjoy the display. We had our ear sets in most of the time, it was a little loud for a gallery but given the excitement and the interest we easily forgot that we were there for the art work. At one point I heard a attendee complain the paintings were up on the ceiling… making me laugh and respond as in the Vatican and she looked puzzled. Overall the actual pictures are amazing and brings a piece of this historic art close and personal. I loved the movie at the end and the comedy with history. Staff was very attentive and we enjoyed the time. Took about 1.50 to actually enjoy each picture.
Inspiring local historic site converted to a community art center 30 years ago. Broad array of classes. Variety of exhibits. Children's programs. Awesome neighborhood and city asset.
We attended the Sistine Chapel exhibit. The signage and communication could’ve been better. Would’ve been happy to pay more we did VIP to get in with less of a crowd. It was hard to move around due to the crowd.
Went to an art showing at the Art Armory. The Art Armory works with children who are abused-even trafficked. This was an exhibit of their art. While there, I met a local artist. His name is Aaron. Looking forward to an exhibit of his sketches and oils. The good looking guy in the pictures is Aaron. January 26, 2023 Went to an exhibit of jewelry. I always find it very interesting. Miss the old staff but the new ones know what they are doing.
One of the most beautiful buildings in Palm Beach County. Bauhaus/Art Nouveau Design
The staff is shady, the boss person is very rude for no reason, and they have previously hired a child predator. A registered child predator. They do not do proper background checks and don’t properly care for the kids and the volunteers. Not to mention, it’s very hot and dingy due to the lack of air conditioning upstairs. The art center is nice, but I do not recommend volunteering there for the art camp
Attended the Arts Festival yesterday. It was nice, but overall a little disappointing. The event felt disorganized and poorly thought out. The artists at the booths deserved better. The booths weren’t set up very efficiently; none of them were facing each other which created a very closed off and confusing pathway. Isn’t the point of these markets to create community? The other strange part was the music. The live band would play one song then silence for a long period of time. It was a bit awkward. I feel like this event would have had a much better turn out if ran more thoughtfully with the artists in mind and marketed/advertised properly. I don’t know what the artists paid for their booths, but I doubt it was worth the effort.
We arrived 30 minutes late to our ticket time due to an accident on I-95 but we didn't have to wait. Even tho they were shorthanded, they were very professional & accommodating. The show wasn't what I thought it was going to be but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Two rooms filled with huge canvases showing featured portions of the Sistine Chapel. 8 canvases were hung on the ceiling. The show gave close up views of the sections, much closer than you would see in real life. And there was a video presentation with an "art" comedian in a separate room made very warm by gallery lights that could have been half as many. Overall, very enjoyable!
Was going here for class s before Covid, they just reopened and I feel very safe, vsmall classes, clean and they take everyone's temperature when they come it, I love this place and my instructors too.
