Arnold Palmer Regional (airport)

Description

Arnold Palmer Regional Airport is a public airport in the eastern United States, located in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, two miles (3 km) southwest of Latrobe and about southeast of Pittsburgh. It is owned by the Westmoreland County Airport Authority and was formerly "Westmoreland County Airport."It was renamed in September 1999 for local golf icon Arnold Palmer, as part of his 70th birthday celebration. Palmer first learned to fly at the airport and the dedication ceremony included Governor Tom Ridge and a flyover of three A-10 aircraft of the state's air guard.Federal Aviation Administration records say the airport had 18,946 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2008, 15,482 in 2009 and 6,978 in 2010. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021, in which it is categorized as a non-hub primary commercial service facility. The airport was served by Northwest Airlink, as a reliever for Pittsburgh International Airport on the other side of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area. The airport also had regional service by US Airways to Pittsburgh International Airport, until the company's bankruptcy. Northwest/Delta ended its daily service to Detroit on July 31, 2009, due to low yields.

Tiny airport close to Pittsburgh, in the region of Latrobe. There’s only one big commercial airline company flying in and out of here, which is Spirit, and I believe it only flies to a few cities in Florida. There’s some sitting area for people waiting for their loved ones. If you’re hungry, there’s only one restaurant inside the facility and no convenience shop—at least I didn’t find any. Parking is free except for long term.
Nice small airport easy to get around. Was treated very rudely and unprofessional by the people at the Spirit boarding personnel. Charged me $99 to check-in a small suitcase which we've been using for years saying it was too big. Does this look like it was too big?
Arnold Palmer had an awesome air show last weekend! I attended on record setting Saturday! This is a great airport and great show. Nice job.
Air show...gotta go! Get the VIP slots. Got the VIP treatment, as a combat vet with 4 tours should get. Met some real Top Gun maverick types and vice versa!
Great Airshow again this year, with perfect weather too.
Well if spirit airlines continues there now I know why they are the ONLY AIRLINE there. This airport does not want any one else cause this a place to to dirty business with customers and legally get away with it.
Decent airport with limited locations they fly to and only one airline - that said the terminal is easy parking is free and overall the place is easy compared to driving to a bigger airport.
I love this airport! I flew to there as one of my stop for long cross country flight. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We ate lunch there. Pretty enjoyable.
We attended the 2021 airshow. Although half of the show and the larger acts got cancled because of rain and the low ceiling, it was not a total loss because the tickets are good for next year.
Went to the Westmoreland air show this weekend and it was so much fun! The airport itself is small but offers free parking during your travel!
