The old Ar-We-Va school in Arcadia, IA being turned into residence, art studio, exhibit space, and more, by Lee and Lajean Shiney.
The Arcadia Art Factory is a decommissioned 1960's-era school which Lee and Lajean Shiney are recreating into private residence, art studio, and exhibit space.
The space makes possible a studio practice for artist Lee Shiney with a focus on iterative and repetitive processes; use of mechanics and automation in the production of paintings, edition works, and kinetic sculpture; and reuse/sustainability of materials.
Lee and Lajean Shiney are teaching artists with Arts Partners/Young Audiences-Arts for Learning. Visits are by appointment only.
