Cruelty Free Natural (un-dyed) naturally molted hand made feather jewelry and hair charms by Artist/Designer Tania Tengan
25% of profits from my cruelty free feather jewelry made with love as a fund raiser go to bird rescue organizations - Mickaboo, Mickacoo, and the Hyacinth Preservation Society. Feathers are very fashionable now. However, most being sold in hair salons, craft stores and as fashion jewelry are from roosters, guinea fowl and water fowl that were killed specifically for their feathers. My jewelry is cruelty free and supports the beautiful birds that naturally molt their precious jewels! Once you see my jewelry, you will gladly support this project and look FABULOUS doing it!!
Visiting by appointment only
To educate everyone about the unfortunate truth behind the use of feathers in the fashion industry. Feathers used for feather jewelry, on clothing, costumes (especially feather boas), hair accessories, on hats and craft feathers are not cruelty free. (Birds are killed just for their feathers. Not as a by product of the meat industry as one might think.) To raise funds for bird rescue groups which promote the adoption/fostering of abandoned and neglected birds. Do not breed or shop. Adopt!
How to care for your feather jewelry? Please wear your earrings with the little rubber backs. As feathers are very light in weight, they can become caught in your hair and a simple toss of your hair could disengage your earrings from your ear and you could lose one side. Feathers are strong, yet once bent, never can be really be straightened out again. It is best to store them hanging out in the open or laying flat. Feathers can get wet, however the metal hardware does not like water. If your jewelry gets wet, gently wipe as much moisture off as possible and hang them to dry in a safe place. If you have questions or comments, please feel free to contact me. Enjoy your jewelry. If well cared for you will be able to pass them down to loved ones!!
