Community Art Studio and Gallery offers art classes, exhibits and special events
Art Matters offers opportunities for artists of all ages: to exhibit and sell works; to create and learn about art production, art history and multicultural traditional arts. Weekly, after school, art lessons are available for children.
Additional studio opportunities may be scheduled for adults.
SUMMER ART CAMPS, for children grades K-6, take place annually, with an experienced and award winning art teacher. All classes are small groups, so enrollment is limited. Children who attend both a.m and p.m sessions are invited to bring their lunch and enjoy a relaxed and supervised break between sessions. Choose from any of all of several exciting weekly art themed camps.

Art Matters is a community gallery, studio and children’s school.
Art Matters respects diversity, teaches peace and promotes tolerance through the study of art across cultures and across eras, by investigating the contributions of not only famous artists, but also those artists marginalized by history, particularly women and people of color.
Art Matters is a community studio that fosters respect and mutual appreciation among its students and strives to provide opportunities for children to be validated for their talent and artistic contribution. Art Matters strives to offer a refuge of sorts for children who do not always stay inside the lines.
Art Matters is a community gallery serving as venue for well established artists, young artists, artists in the mainstream and artists from territories uncharted, all of whom are invited to display there art and sell it with no commission charged. The gallery often holds fundraising events for non-profit organizations and causes. It has also served as a community meeting place.
Art Matters was begun in 2012 by Teresa Christmas, an artist and art educator, who was the recipient of one of the largest awards ever given by the Kentucky Women’s Foundation to develop and teach a woman’s art curriculum for the public schools. She responded to the lack of quality art programs in schools, and created an art studio for children of all ages. Approximately 15% of those children attend free of charge.
Art lessons provided to enrolled students. Summer Art Camps offered. Community Gallery has free events.
